Wipro announced on Monday the expansion of its collaboration with Databricks, a company specializing in data and artificial intelligence (AI). The goal of this partnership is to assist enterprises in modernizing their data infrastructure and accelerating AI adoption.
Creation of Specialized Practice
As part of this engagement, the IT services company has established a dedicated business practice that will focus on developing accelerators and AI solutions tailored to specific industries. According to the company, this new practice aims to help organizations transition from disparate data systems and isolated AI pilot projects to full-scale enterprise-wide AI implementation.
Technology Integration
The practice will combine Databricks' capabilities in agentic AI, data modernization, analytics, and application development with the platform and suite of AI solutions from Wipro Intelligence. Furthermore, Databricks Genie—an AI assistant that allows both technical and business users to interact with enterprise data using natural language—will be utilized. Wipro stated that it will use its agent-focused delivery platform, WEGA, so that clients can migrate from legacy systems to AI-ready data architectures.

Kanwar Singh, Managing Partner for Technology Services at Wipro Limited, noted that 'our long-standing collaboration with Databricks reflects a shared commitment to helping enterprises move from AI experimentation to achieving measurable value.' He added that this business practice will bring together platform specialists, consulting expertise, and industry teams to jointly create solutions that accelerate data transformation and AI adoption across the entire company.
Experience and Sector Focus

The company also mentioned that Databricks recognized it as the Banking Services Partner of the Year in 2025 and Innovation Partner of the Year in 2026. Cory O'Brien, Senior Vice President of Partnerships at Databricks, emphasized that 'Databricks helps companies unify data, analytics, and AI with built-in governance, all at the most cost-effective total cost of ownership.'

Both companies stated that the business practice will develop AI-driven offerings for sectors such as banking, manufacturing, consumer goods, telecommunications, and energy. Special attention will be given to financial sector transformation by applying agentic AI to financial planning and analysis processes to enhance efficiency and optimize costs.
