The Winter Festival is animating the city of Socorro, in the state of São Paulo, by promoting a series of free cultural events over two weekends. The programming will take place from July 24 to 26 and again from July 31 to August 2, occupying three important locations in the city: Praça 9 de Julho, the Cultural Center, and Praça da Matriz.
With free admission, the festival presents a variety of attractions, including jazz shows, concerts, plays, dance, ballet, and exhibitions. The events feature both local artists and special guests.
Organized by the city hall, through the Culture and Tourism departments, the festival is part of the July holiday schedule and aims to attract both residents and tourists. In addition to the cultural offerings, the event strengthens the tourist flow to Socorro, a destination known for its adventure and ecotourism activities in the Serra da Mantiqueira.
During the winter period, the city is also highlighted by its knitwear hub. Various points of sale, such as Jardim Moda Shopping, the Permanent Knitwear Fair, and the Knitwear Outlet, complement the experience for visitors to the region during this season.
On the first weekend, on July 24, Praça 9 de Julho hosts the opening with Corporação Santa Cecília at 8 pm, followed by a show by Banda 7 Gallo at 10 pm. On Saturday, July 25, Praça 9 de Julho will feature DJ Discol at 2 pm, Ballet by Prof. Aline Rostirola at 4 pm, Lara Castagnoli at 7 pm, and a tribute to Zé Ramalho at 9 pm. The Cultural Center will host the opening of the NAVS em Cena Exhibition at 2 pm.
On Sunday, July 26, the Cultural Center continues with the NAVS em Cena Exhibition at 2 pm, while Praça 9 de Julho offers Ivan Cruz (Guitar Concert) at 3 pm, Grupo Chorando Alto at 4 pm, Municipal Conservatory Orchestra at 6 pm, and the performance Entre Cordas e Abraços (Tango) at 8:30 pm.
On Friday, July 31, Praça 9 de Julho will host Maya Nardes at 7 pm and Los Trajanos at 9 pm. In the evening, at Praça da Matriz, there will be a Sacred Concert with the Municipal Choir after mass at 8:30 pm. Saturday, August 1, is dedicated to Jazz Day, featuring DJ Jeff at 2 pm, Jazz Brasil at 3 pm, Felipe Silveira Quartet at 6 pm, and Derico Quintet at 9 pm. The Cultural Center will present the play As Bruxas de Socorro – Onde a Magia Ainda se Vive at 7 pm.
To conclude, on Sunday, August 2, Praça 9 de Julho will have DJ Gens at 2 pm, Contrabando Orchestra at 4 pm, Municipal Conservatory Big Band Combo at 6 pm, and Susy Bastos at 8 pm. The Cultural Center will offer the Children's Theater João e Maria at 5 pm.
The Ochre Residence, an architectural project, defines its identity directly from earth elements. The chosen name accurately reflects the range of natural materials used in the house's construction.
The material palette employed includes fired terracotta, hardwood, a roof made of coconut wood and natural straw. This combination lends the residence a general atmosphere of unpretentious warmth.
Casa O, an architectural project, is located on a corner lot within a traditional neighborhood in the city of Pilar. The project concept was developed by exploring the contrast between the facades facing south and north.
One facade was designed to create a sense of hermeticism, while the other aims to dematerialize this sensation. The primary objective of the design is to achieve the construction of silence in the residential environment.
The program organization was defined longitudinally, resulting in a 38-meter facade along the property line. This wall, which functions as a blind wall, serves to disguise the main entrance and house the internal residence.
The design team provided a description of the Casa Baruk / Memola Studio Restaurant. Upon entering Casa Baruk, located in Higienópolis, São Paulo, the architecture presents a fusion of different traditions.
The spatial journey was designed to guide the visitor through an immersive experience. In this space, the way the environment is perceived expands almost tangibly, and this sensation is also reflected in the flavors served to the customers.
