According to a Sputnik report, several Uzbek cities established ties with foreign cities at the International Forum of Partner Cities held in Samarkand.
Three foreign cities—Ryazan, Belgrade, and Nigde—officially became partner cities of Samarkand. The parties reached an agreement on developing cooperation in the fields of trade and economy, science and technology, as well as culture.
In addition, new agreements were signed with cities from Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Serbia, and Bulgaria. Furthermore, partner city relationships were established between Kukon and Veliko Tarnovo (Bulgaria), Rishton and Turkistan (Kazakhstan), Bukhara and Ashgabat (Turkmenistan), and Namangan and Osh (Kyrgyzstan).
As part of the International Forum of Brother Cities held in Samarkand, agreements on cooperation were signed between cities of Uzbekistan and representatives from cities in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Serbia, Russia, and Bulgaria.
In particular, city leaders from Samarkand, Belgrade (Serbia), Nigde (Turkey), and Ryazan (Russian Federation) reached an agreement to develop cooperation in the fields of trade and economy, science and technology, as well as cultural ties.
Vesna Vidovic, Deputy Mayor of Belgrade, noted that strengthening relations between Uzbekistan and Serbia brings great satisfaction and expands the scope of interaction. She emphasized that the signing of the memorandum between Belgrade and Samarkand is a necessary step for the development of both cities and the strengthening of friendly relations among the populations. Vidovic also mentioned that Belgrade is a city with a rich European history and is actively developing as a modern center for tourism and international relations, which makes mutual cooperation with Samarkand beneficial.
Furthermore, memorandums were signed at the ceremony to establish brotherly ties between the cities of Kokand (Fergana region), Veliko Tarnovo (Bulgaria), Rishthon and Turkistan (Kazakhstan), Bukhara and Ashgabat (Turkmenistan), as well as Namangan and Osh (Kyrgyzstan).
The Mayor of Ashgabat, Rahim Gandimov, stated that they previously established brotherly relations with the city of Tashkent, which proved very useful for both cities and their residents. He cited the example of the creation of Ashgabat parks in Tashkent and the Tashkent park in Ashgabat thanks to this cooperation. Gandimov added that similar friendly ties are now being established with the city of Bukhara, which will contribute to strengthening age-old friendship and good neighborly relations between the peoples.
Mukhiddin Shukhratovich Usarov will defend his doctoral dissertation in medical sciences. The topic of the dissertation is titled 'Comparative description of morphological aspects of uterine diseases identified by ultrasound examination.'
The dissertation was written to obtain the academic degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in medical sciences. The defense will take place at a meeting of the Scientific Council, number Dsc.06/2025.27.12.Tib.17.05, at the Samarkand State Medical University, which awards academic degrees.
