The Pan-African Biennial (PAB) functions as a continental platform intended to record, conserve, and present the built environment, urbanism, and creative futures of all 54 African countries and the diaspora.
This initiative aims to establish a long-term institution, ensuring that African architects, urban planners, artists, and communities are responsible for telling their own spatial and cultural stories.
The Pan African Biennale invites filmmakers, designers, artists, and spatial professionals to submit short films that critically and creatively address current African realities. It seeks audiovisual works that explore changing landscapes, traditional knowledge systems, and speculative visions across the continent and its diasporas.
Various formats are accepted, including documentaries, narrative, experimental, and hybrid, provided they challenge hegemonic representations and present nuanced and contextualized perspectives.
The call is structured around three main axes:
Submitted films must be under 50 minutes in length; shorts, medium-length features, and longer documentary or experimental formats are welcome, as long as they respect the time limit. All genres, including animation and experimental works, are accepted.
For registration, it is necessary to attach 3 to 5 still images from the film, a concise synopsis (maximum 300 words), and a director's biography (maximum 150 words). Films must be made available via a download link on Google Drive.
Selection will be based on conceptual strength, relevance to the proposed themes, formal innovation, and critical engagement with African contexts. The Biennial encourages participation from both established and emerging professionals from across Africa and the diaspora, seeking to amplify diverse voices.
Selected films will be screened during the official opening week of the Pan-African Biennale, which will take place from September 7 to 11, 2026, in Nairobi, Kenya. A total of up to 10 films will be selected, with two being shown each night at Unseen Nairobi.
Key deadlines include: submission deadline on July 24, 2026, at 23:59 GMT+2; selection notification expected on August 24, 2026; and the event dates in September 2026.
A ceremony was held in Namangan city to award the winners and prize-winners of the 'State Security Service Cup' football and mini-football competition at the Namangan region level, along with a concert program. The event took place on Uch Favvora Street in Namangan city.
Regional leaders, representatives of law enforcement agencies and organizations, athletes, coaches, referees, and the general public took part in the ceremony. Speakers emphasized the significance of this tournament for the development of mass sports, the popularization of football in settlements, and attracting youth to a healthy lifestyle.
Teams that showed high results in the competitions, as well as active participants and referees who contributed to the high-level organization of the tournament, were honored with diplomas, letters of gratitude, and commemorative gifts.
In the football matches, first place was won by the team from the village of Toquvchi in Davlatobodsky district, second place by the team from the village of Olmazor in Kosonsoy district, and third place was awarded to the team from the village of Yuqori Navkent in Yangiqurgon district.
In mini-football, the championship was won by the team from the village of Dambog in Namangan city, second place was taken by the team from the village of Navbahor-1 in Kosonsoy district, and third place was the team from the village of Navbahor in Uchqurgon district.
In the women's tournament, the winning team was from the village of Alpomish in Namangan city. Lower places went to teams from the villages of Bahriobod in Uchqurgon district and Vodiy in Popsky district.
At the end of the event, cups, medals, diplomas, and souvenirs were presented to the winners and prize-winners.
