The advantages of organic products lie in the fact that they are considered safer for human health and environmentally clean. Furthermore, they contribute to the long-term preservation of soil fertility, enjoy high demand in the international market, which expands export opportunities.
As part of the latest 'Global Dialogue Club' event, organized by the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan, a comprehensive discussion was held on the topic 'Growing Organic Products in Agriculture: Opportunities Created and Current Status.' Deputies of the Legislative Chamber, party activists, experts, representatives of relevant ministries and agencies participated in the event.
The current state of organic agriculture, reforms being carried out in this area, and future tasks were subjects of discussion. It was emphasized that the demand for organic products grown without chemical agents and verified for safety is growing annually globally. This strengthens the need to develop organic agriculture not only from an environmental but also from an economic perspective.
During the meetings, the role of organic farming in preserving soil fertility, efficient use of water resources, protecting biodiversity, and reducing negative environmental impact was discussed in detail. Experts noted that it is crucial to strictly adhere to established requirements at all stages of organic product production—from cultivation to harvesting, storage, transportation, and sale.
It was also recognized as an important task to clearly differentiate between the concepts of 'organic,' 'natural,' and 'ecologically clean,' as well as to improve laboratory control and product certification in accordance with international standards. During the discussion, lectures were heard on the stages of development of organic agriculture and the production of organic products in the republic, measures being taken to implement international standards in the organic products sector, as well as on the current state and prospects of food security in the country and its basic principles.
Specialists emphasized the need for financial and organizational support for farmers transitioning to organic production, simplifying the certification system, developing laboratory infrastructure, widespread adoption of organic seeds and biological protection agents, and ensuring product control. Important tasks were also noted, such as increasing the share of organic products in the domestic market, expanding export potential, popularizing GMO-free products, and providing consumers with reliable information about product composition and quality.
It was stressed that the proposals and recommendations made during these discussions will contribute to the development of organic agriculture in the country, strengthening food security, protecting natural resources, and ensuring the population has access to high-quality and safe food products.
Natural resources are considered an invaluable asset of humanity. Protecting biodiversity in rivers, lakes, and water bodies, preserving fish stocks, and maintaining ecological balance have become one of the priority tasks of state policy. During another control raid conducted by employees of the Ecology and Climate Change Department of the Bukhara region, a violation of the law was discovered in the 'Hadicha' natural lake, located in the Karavulbozor district.
The inspection revealed that citizens J.R., B.R., and I.U. were engaged in illegal fishing using prohibited nets, which contradicts the law and lacked appropriate permits.
The inspection results showed that they illegally caught 47 carp (zogar) and 71 Aral chavog, totaling 118 fish. According to specialists' calculations, this offense caused economic damage to the wildlife amounting to 126 million 72 thousand sums.
As part of the operational measures, a rubber boat used during the offense, prohibited fishing nets, and other fishing gear were seized, and the caught fish was documented as material evidence according to established procedures. Given the seriousness of the situation and the amount of damage caused, a criminal case has been initiated against the perpetrators. This once again confirms that any attempts to plunder natural resources will be strictly assessed under the law.
Today, the illegal catching of several fish is viewed not just as a minor offense, but as a serious crime that harms the entire ecosystem. This is because every fish is an integral part of the natural balance of water bodies, the biological chain, and natural resources that must be preserved for future generations.

In the context of ensuring the rule of law in the country, decisive measures are being taken against environmental offenses, which serves as an important warning to all citizens. In particular, the Presidential Decree adopted on April 21, 2025, 'On Measures for the Effective Organization of Priority Tasks for Improving the Anti-Corruption System,' aims to strengthen preventive measures, introduce effective mechanisms to counteract the use of official powers for personal gain, and form an absolutely zero-tolerance environment for corruption.
