The head of state visited the newly established Social Protection Complex in the city of Nurafshon. He familiarized himself with the conditions created within this complex, which operates under the National Agency for Social Protection.
Expansion of Social Services
Systemic work is underway in the country to strengthen social protection of the population and expand the volume and types of state social services provided to citizens. The Social Protection Complex, first established in the Tashkent region, provides the opportunity to provide comprehensive services to segments of the population in need of social protection in one place.
Structure and Scope of the Complex
This complex houses five institutions: the management of the National Agency for Social Protection for the Tashkent region, the regional social inspection, the 'Inson' social services center in Nurafshon city, the medico-social expert commission, and the regional social services center. Thanks to the creation of this complex, about 10 thousand citizens in Nurafshon city and neighboring districts—Orta Chirchiq, Piskent, Oqqo'rg'on, and Buka—are now covered by social services.
Functioning and Goals
Nearly 100 employees work at this institution, helping citizens in need of social protection to fully and independently adapt to life in society. Furthermore, the regional social services center has established the provision of five types of social services based on individual needs of citizens by attracting opportunities from the non-state sector.
Social Integration and Innovations
As a result of these measures, people who have long been at home, as well as persons with disabilities and those needing care, and children with disabilities are integrated into society. During the visit, the head of state also reviewed a presentation of new mechanisms for the work of local social workers, based on the experience of the Tashkent region, as well as the diagnosis of persons with disabilities using new standards and artificial intelligence.
State Policy and Development Plans
Observing the conditions created in the Social Protection Complex, the president emphasized that supporting vulnerable segments of the population, assisting them in dignified adaptation to society, and promoting a positive lifestyle are among the fundamental tasks of state policy. After this, he met with the team of 'Inson' volunteers from the National Agency for Social Protection in the Tashkent region and reviewed their projects. Approving the activities of the complex, he instructed the leaders to increase the number of similar regional social services centers across the republic.
It should be noted that plans are underway to expand existing capabilities and bring the total number of regional social services centers in the republic to at least 90. These new centers should be opened in areas where a large number of needy people live, where transportation is convenient, and which are easily accessible to citizens.
