Favorable conditions for rain are maintained by the interaction of a stationary front, a low-pressure zone near the Southeast coast, and a surface trough. This implies rain in São Paulo, Paraná, Mato Grosso do Sul, southern Minas Gerais, as well as parts of Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo.
In the North region, Saturday is expected to have the highest rainfall volumes between Amazonas and Roraima, with expectations of thunderstorms. There is also a possibility of isolated rains in Amapá, Acre, and central-north Pará.
In the Northeast, instability is concentrated in the northern band. Maranhão, Piauí, Ceará, Rio Grande do Norte, Paraíba, and part of Pernambuco continue with rain forecasts, especially in coastal areas.
In contrast to the rain in other areas, Goiás and Mato Grosso remain under the influence of a dry air mass. In these locations, Inmet predicts that relative humidity may drop to less than 20% during the afternoons.
The institute issued potential danger alerts for low humidity covering Goiás, Mato Grosso, Federal District, Southern Pará, and Tocantins, as well as Western Bahia and parts of Piauí and Maranhão. In these municipalities, the weather is expected to be stable throughout the period.
In addition to climatic differences, temperatures are also expected to show great variation. Curitiba will be the capital with the lowest minimum, recording 12°C on Friday, and its maximum will be only 15°C, rising to 23°C on Saturday.
In São Paulo, the temperature should not exceed 19°C on Friday. In Rio de Janeiro, the thermal variation will occur between 16°C and 28°C. In the North region, Palmas may reach 36°C, being the highest maximum forecast among the capitals. Cuiabá should reach 35°C, and Teresina 34°C.
Inmet's forecast signals that the coming days will be marked by this contrast. While part of the national territory will be under the influence of the stationary front, another part will have firm weather and low humidity. Due to these regional disparities, conditions can change significantly from one location to another, reinforcing the need to follow the institute's updates before any travel or outdoor activity.
Amidst the activity of the monsoon season, rains continue in many regions of the country. Nevertheless, currently, there is a decrease in precipitation activity in several areas of Delhi-NCR and Uttar Pradesh.
According to the meteorological service, today, July 14, heavy rains are forecast for northeastern India, the western part of the sub-Himalayan region of West Bengal, and Sikkim. The monsoon trough currently extends from Sriganganagar and Hisar through Meerut and Shahjahanpur to South Assam.
Furthermore, numerous cyclonic systems have become active around Eastern North Bihar, South Bangladesh, and Assam, increasing the probability of intensified rainfall in the northeastern states.
In states such as Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura, light to moderate rains are possible in various districts, and heavy rains in some places. Intense rains are also expected in West Bengal and Sikkim.
Light or moderate rains are expected in Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Kerala, the Andaman-Nicobar archipelago, and the Western Himalayas. Light precipitation is also likely in some parts of Punjab, Haryana, Konkan-Goa, coastal Karnataka, and South Gujarat.
The pause in rains in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh is linked to greater activity of the monsoon trough in the eastern part and changes in local conditions. However, meteorological experts suggest that rains may resume in these regions upon the re-activation of the monsoon.
