The IT services company Infosys reported higher profits and revenue for the June quarter; however, its figures fell below the forecasts of Bloomberg analysts. Furthermore, the company lowered the upper bound of its revenue growth forecast for the 2027 fiscal year.
Forecasts and Financial Results
Amid ongoing global uncertainty and moderate consumer demand, Infosys adjusted its revenue forecast for the 2027 fiscal year, setting a growth range of 1.5% to 3%. For the first quarter ending June 30, 2026, Infosys demonstrated a year-on-year net profit growth of 12.2%, reaching 7,769 crore rupees. However, compared to the previous period, profit decreased by 8.6%.
Revenue Dynamics and Geographic Markets
The company's revenue increased by 14% year-on-year, amounting to 48,211 crore rupees. This growth was largely driven by the life sciences and financial services sectors. Geographically, the US saw a 3.2% growth, and Europe saw a 2.8% growth at constant currency.
Deviation from Expectations and Management Comments
The company's results did not meet the estimates of Bloomberg analysts for both revenue and profit. Bloomberg had forecasted revenue at 48,318 crore rupees and net profit at 7,834 crore rupees. Salil Parekh, Managing Director and CEO, noted that 'the AI momentum is now rapidly translating into revenue, demonstrating how Infosys' differentiated value proposition in enterprise AI is transforming into sustainable market share growth. Significant wins in large deals, underpinned by Infosys Topaz, strengthen client confidence in our ability to act as a strategic partner for AI-driven transformation, delivering tangible business value.'
Additionally, Infosys announced a Total Contract Value (TCV) of $3.6 billion, exceeding the $3.2 billion recorded in the fourth quarter of the 2026 fiscal year. Jayesh Sanghradka, Chief Financial Officer, emphasized: 'Our sustained margins of 21.1% and consistently strong cash generation reflect the strength of our business model, disciplined execution, and continuous focus on operational excellence in a complex business environment.'
He added that the company is accelerating investments in AI, talent, and platforms to drive future growth, remaining committed to improving productivity, expanding operating leverage, and maintaining the financial flexibility necessary to capitalize on emerging opportunities and ensure sustainable shareholder value.
