Residents of Uzbekistan will be able to feel relief after a period of extremely high temperatures as the heat begins to weaken starting Tuesday, according to Uzhydromet data.
Peak Heat and Start of Decline
Last week, Uzbekistan experienced very high air temperatures. According to Uzhydromet reports, during the hottest moments, the air warmed up to +43...+45 degrees, reaching readings of +46 to +49 degrees in southern and desert areas.
The temperature decrease in the northwestern regions began on July 19. Furthermore, a drop in temperature is expected in the desert zone on July 20, and the full reduction will cover the entire country by July 21.
Weather Forecast for the Coming Days
The period from July 20 to July 24 in Uzbekistan is forecast to have variable cloudiness with no precipitation. However, short-term rains with thunderstorm probability are expected on July 21 in Karakalpakstan and on July 22 in the Fergana Valley regions. Short-term rain with thunderstorms is also possible in some mountainous areas.
Temperature Regime and Wind
On Monday afternoon, the air temperature will be from +40 to +43 degrees, reaching +45...+47 degrees in places in the south, while in the north it will remain within +34...+39 degrees. Starting Tuesday and until the end of the working week, nighttime temperatures will drop to +20...+25 degrees, and daytime temperatures to +32...+37, with possible local values up to +30.
From July 20 to July 22, wind is predicted to strengthen to 13–18 m/s in various parts of the country, and gusts up to 20–22 m/s may be observed in some places. Tashkent is expected to have light variable cloudiness without precipitation; on Monday it will be +41...+43 degrees, and on Tuesday night — +25...+27, daytime — +36...+38.
From July 22 to July 24, the air temperature will drop even further: to +20...+23 degrees at night, and to +31...+34 degrees during the day. The wind will predominantly be easterly, followed by a shift to westerly, at a speed of 3–8 m/s, but may occasionally increase to 12–15 m/s, which may be accompanied by dust storms in certain areas.
