CARPL.ai, a developer of an artificial intelligence radiology platform, has successfully closed a Series A funding round, raising $10 million. The International Finance Corporation (IFC), the World Bank Group's investment arm, led this round, with participation from Stellaris Venture Partners and other investors.
Goals of the Raised Funds
The funds will be used to accelerate the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies in hospitals and diagnostic centers. The company plans to expand its product offerings, partner network, and international presence, focusing particularly on the markets of North America, Latin America, Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, and other developing economies.
Company Mission and Achievements
Dr. Vidur Mahajan, CEO of CARPL.ai, emphasized the company's mission: 'Our goal is to ensure that doctors can confidently use the most advanced available AI technologies for their patients.' He added that over the past years, the company has created the world's largest radiology AI market, which is deeply integrated with leading enterprise PACS providers, winning the trust of major global medical institutions.
Client Base and Market Application
The platform serves some of the world's largest healthcare providers, including four out of the five largest private radiology groups globally. Furthermore, public healthcare systems in countries such as Brazil, India, Singapore, Spain, and the United Arab Emirates utilize this platform.
Expert Opinion on the Role of AI
Farid Fezua, Global Director of Private Equity and Venture Capital at IFC, noted that AI is becoming a 'critical part of the solution' for improving access to quality diagnostics in emerging markets. He also pointed out that CARPL.ai is building the infrastructure that allows healthcare providers to scale the adoption of this technology.
Alok Goyal, Partner at Stellaris Venture Partners, stated that the startup has gained the trust of leading medical institutions and established partnerships with major PACS providers, enabling it to become foundational AI-based healthcare infrastructure.
AI Integration in Medicine
Despite medical imaging accounting for over 80 percent of healthcare data, the adoption of AI has remained fragmented, even with over 1000 FDA-approved radiology applications available. CARPL.ai reported that its platform provides healthcare institutions access to over 300 AI applications from more than 100 partners through unified integration, allowing for the deployment and management of AI within clinical workflows.
