Regional (III stage) competitions of the 'Mahalla League' sports contests, aimed at attracting youth to mass sports, fostering a healthy lifestyle in mahallas, and identifying talented athletes, took place in the Syrdarya region. These competitions were held in high spirits.

Goals and Organization of the Tournament
The competition was organized in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated December 4, 2024, 'On measures to improve the system for developing team sports and identifying talented youth.' The tournament contributed to the development of mass sports in mahallas, the meaningful use of youth free time, and increased their physical activity.
Venues and Participants of the Competition
The contests were held at the 4th type sports complex of the Syrdarya region, the open sports ground of the Pedagogical Institute of the Syrdarya region, and the sports hall of General Education School No. 2 in Guliston city. Teams selected from all 11 cities and districts of the region participated in the regional stage. A total of 437 sports enthusiasts competed in 132 teams from 67 mahallas.
Sports Disciplines and Results
The competitions covered disciplines such as chess, checkers, workout, streetball, volleyball, mini-football, and table tennis. Every match took place in an atmosphere of high rivalry, fair play, and true sporting spirit. Following intense battles, the 'Almazor' mahalla team from Boyovut district won first place in chess, and the 'Bunyodkor' mahalla team won among women. In checkers, the 'Hikmatli' mahalla from Syrdarya district was recognized as the winner, and among women, it was the 'Farhod' mahalla from Shirin city. The Ku'rkam diyor mahalla team from Akoltinsky district showed the best result in workout.
Victories in Team Sports
In streetball competitions, the Markaz mahalla teams from Boyovut district won the title of champion for both men and women. The Yangi hayot mahalla team from Mirzaobod district became the winner in volleyball, and the Davlatobod mahalla team from Yangier city won the championship among women. In mini-football, the Bekat mahalla team from Boyovut district was recognized as the winner. In table tennis, the representatives of the Oqoltin mahalla from Mirzaobod district showed the best results, and among women, it was the Adolat mahalla from Syrdarya district.
Awarding Ceremony and Future Plans
At the awards ceremony, winners and prize-winners were honored by Uigun Khotomov, the head of the Syrdarya Regional Department of the Mahalla Society. In his speech, he emphasized that the development of mass sports in the country has been elevated to a state level, and the 'Mahalla League' serves as an important platform for enhancing sports culture in mahallas, attracting youth to a healthy lifestyle, and discovering talented athletes for participation in subsequent stages of the competition.
It was noted that the tournaments contribute to strengthening the friendly atmosphere between mahallas, enhancing team spirit, and increasing public interest, especially among young people, in sports. At the end of the event, organizers presented diplomas, medals, cups, and valuable souvenirs to all winners and prize-winners in all sports disciplines. Now, the winners of the regional stage will represent the honor of the Syrdarya region at the republican level.
