The confidence of major industrial organizations across the country is now clearly visible in the policies and environment of Uttar Pradesh. Prestigious organizations such as FICCI, CII, and Young Indians (YI) are consistently praising the state's reforms, infrastructure, and policies.
Uttar Pradesh Becomes a Safe Investment Destination
At the FICCI National Executive Council meeting held in Lucknow, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that due to strategic policy reforms and advanced security arrangements, Uttar Pradesh has become one of the safest investment destinations in the country. He also mentioned that the 'double engine' model, where the state and central government govern jointly, has made Uttar Pradesh the second-largest economy in the nation. The state's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has more than doubled in the last eight years, along with a notable increase in per capita income.
Positive Response from Industry
FICCI President Harshvardhan Agarwal described the state's progress as extraordinary, specifically commending the successful organization of the Mahakumbh and the revival of Ayodhya. He stated that the pace and scope of progress are unprecedented due to strong law and order, world-class infrastructure, expressways and airports, Ease of Doing Business, and attractive sector-specific policies. Agarwal also noted that the ambition for the state to become a trillion-dollar economy was set at an audacious and opportune time. Manoj Gupta, Chairman of the FICCI Uttar Pradesh State Council, highlighted waterway development and freehold land reforms as crucial for leveraging global manufacturing shifts.
Center of Investment at CII Summit
Uttar Pradesh's progress was also highlighted at the CII Annual Business Summit 2026. At this forum, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that during his nine years in office, over 18,000 large industries and 96 lakh MSME units have been established in the state. He attributed this achievement to ease of doing business, Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), and technology-based governance. He also shed light on the success of the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative, which has provided design, packaging, technology, and branding support to local industries.
Changing Perception of Investors
According to the Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh has now become a leading state in the country in terms of business reforms and investment attraction, causing entrepreneurs from other states to look towards UP for expansion. CII President Rajiv Memani called the state's advancement an amazing transformation and said that there has been a big shift in investors' thinking regarding Uttar Pradesh. Due to strong governance, better law and order, and business-friendly policies, both domestic and international investors are now looking for opportunities in the state. Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General of CII, also emphasized the state's rapidly developing infrastructure and its growing role in economic growth.
Development of Education and Startup Ecosystem
FICCI has contributed not only to the industry but also to strengthening the education and startup ecosystem in the state. An example of this is the agreement between FICCI and IIT Kanpur, aimed at promoting innovation and startup culture in the state. Additionally, the FICCI Uttar Pradesh Chapter regularly organizes export promotion programs, capacity building workshops, and bilateral trade activities, thereby strengthening the state's trade relations globally.
Support for Young Entrepreneurs
The youth wing of CII, Young Indians (YI), aims to encourage young leadership and entrepreneurship. The YI Uttar Pradesh Chapter provides platforms for young professionals and entrepreneurs in the state for networking, mentorship, and policy dialogue, enabling them to actively participate in the state's industrial development. This initiative is serving as a vital bridge, especially for youth associated with the state's MSME and startup ecosystem, connecting grassroots entrepreneurs with large industrial organizations.
