Today is scheduled for the announcement of first-quarter financial results for the fiscal year 2026-27 (Q1FY27) for 63 companies. Among them are Eternal, Nestle India, IndusInd Bank, Adani Green, Adani Power, Bharat Petroleum Corporation, Dr Reddy's Laboratories, JSW Energy, NTPC Green Energy, and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation.
Eternal, the parent company of Zomato, may demonstrate strong financial performance for the April-June quarter of 2026-27. This potential growth is attributed to a lower base level and the confident operation of key segments such as quick commerce (QC) and food delivery. Broker estimates suggest that profits could increase significantly due to a sharp rise in sales driven by Blinkit.
According to JM Financial forecasts, net profit (PAT) for the reporting quarter is estimated at 318.9 crore rupees, which is a substantial increase compared to 25 crore rupees the previous year, representing a year-on-year (Y-o-Y) increase of 1175.6%. Furthermore, consolidated EBITDA is expected to improve to 709 crore rupees, up from 486 crore rupees in Q4 FY26 and 115 crore rupees in Q1FY26. Another domestic broker, Motilal Oswal Financial Services (MOFSL), predicts a profit jump of 1526.5% to 406.6 crore rupees in Q1FY27.
The FMCG company Nestle India will also present its first-quarter results (Q1FY27) today. Analysts expect Nestle India to outperform competitors due to strong brands, sustained demand, efficient distribution networks, and strict cost management.
Broker forecasts indicate that Nestle India's revenue will grow by 12–18% year-on-year, supported by healthy double-digit volume growth. EBITDA is expected to increase by 12–29% year-on-year, and net profit could rise by up to 34% year-on-year. According to Axis Securities, Nestle India's revenue for the June quarter could reach 5,691 crore rupees, corresponding to a 12.2% year-on-year growth, thanks to stable demand and good volume growth. Meanwhile, EBITDA is likely to increase by 10.6% year-on-year, reaching 1,217 crore rupees. However, the gross margin (GM) is expected to contract by 196 basis points, and the EBITDA margin is projected to decrease by 29 basis points year-on-year to 21.4%, due to rising costs for raw materials and fuel, as well as continuous investments in advertising and brand promotion. Net profit (PAT), according to the broker, will be 730 crore rupees, which is 10.7% higher than last year.
The market saw declines in the Nifty50 and Sensex indices due to rising oil prices, triggered by ongoing tensions between the US and Iran. By 10:00 AM, Nifty50 fell by 168.25 points or 0.7% to 24,019.45, while Sensex dropped by 586 points or 0.76% to 76,883.91. Major losers in the Nifty50 index included InterGlobe Aviation, Cipla, and Axis Bank.
In broader markets, Nifty MidCap and Nifty SmallCap traded down by 0.59% and 0.92% respectively. Sectorally, the Nifty Pharma index lost over one percent amid concerns about the growth prospects of pharmaceutical companies after the US announced a 100% tariff on generic imports starting in 2028. At the same time, the Nifty FMCG and Nifty Auto sectors showed better performance compared to other industries.
