Extreme Fire Danger Warning Issued in Parts of Eastern Cape

A new cold front will change the climate picture in various parts of Brazil during this Wednesday, the 22nd, and Thursday, the 23rd. According to Inmet, the storms that were affecting Rio Grande do Sul will expand to the states of Paraná, Mato Grosso do Sul, and southern São Paulo.

Highlights include intense rainfall in Paraná, Mato Grosso do Sul, and southern São Paulo; thunderstorms and potential hail in the South and Midwest; low humidity during afternoons in the center of the country; and rain showers in the Northeast and far North.

Alerts in the South and Midwest Region

In the South Region, the arrival of the cold front supports the forecast of rain, thunderstorms, and hail in Paraná, Santa Catarina, and northern Rio Grande do Sul this Wednesday (22). Inmet issued an orange danger alert for storms in specific areas of central-west Paraná, Santa Catarina, and the extreme northwest of Rio Grande do Sul, citing municipalities such as Cascavel, Foz do Iguaçu, Guarapuava, and Chapecó.

For Thursday (23), instabilities will migrate to the north of the South Region. Rio Grande do Sul should see weather improvements, but the cold air will cause a drop in temperatures, with Curitiba expected to register a minimum of 10°C and a maximum of 15°C. In the Midwest, Mato Grosso do Sul remains a focus of attention, with expectations of rain, thunderstorms, and possible hail, concentrated mainly in the south and west of the state.

Situation in the Northeast and North

In the Northeast, the forecast points to many clouds and rain showers along the coastal strip, with greater incidence between Maranhão and southern Bahia, while the interior will maintain more stable weather. In the North Region, rains will be concentrated in western Amazonas, Acre, Roraima, Amapá, and Pará, although the south of this region will remain dry and under a low humidity alert.
