Central ministers Jeppi Natta and Jitendra Singh visited social activist Son Wangchuk at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram. According to sources, they arrived at the hospital to meet with Wangchuk.
Son Wangchuk was discharged from Safdarjung Hospital by order of the Delhi High Court and subsequently admitted to Medanta in Gurugram for continued treatment.
Son Wangchuk is on an indefinite sit-in strike in support of protests led by the 'Kokroch Janata Party'. Her demands concern establishing accountability within the education system. Among her demands are holding Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan accountable for the leak of examination materials, including NEET, and other irregularities in conducting exams, as well as demanding that the government answer students' questions.
It is currently understood that the government has initiated a dialogue process with Wangchuk.
A two-person delegation from the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) met with Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda on Monday. This meeting took place after the government opened a line of communication with protesters who were attempting to march to Parliament over alleged examination irregularities.
The delegation, consisting of CJP's chief press secretary Saurav Das and national press secretary Ashutosh Ranki, met with Nadda at his residence for approximately ten minutes. They presented him with a written memorandum listing the group's demands.
According to CJP, Nadda stated that he would conduct internal discussions with the government leadership and requested time before responding to the demands put forward. Among these demands is the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
The memorandum presented to Nadda requested three immediate actions: the unconditional release of Sonam Wangchuk, the resignation or removal of Dharmendra Pradhan, and compensation of 1 crore rupees to every NEET aspirant who committed suicide following the alleged NEET 2026 exam leak.
Furthermore, the letter included an urgent appeal to the Delhi Police to 'immediately cease using excessive force against peaceful protesters,' as the demonstration was proceeding peacefully.
CJP representatives met with the Health Minister as part of the government's efforts to engage with the protesters, according to news agency PTI, citing official sources. They stated that discussions regarding the protests are underway within the government, and an official statement may be issued.
After the meeting, Saurav Das wrote on social media platform X: 'After waiting more than two hours, I and @AshutoshRanka met with J.P. Nadda ji at his residence for 10 minutes. When we presented the written letter with our demands, he assured us that he would discuss it internally. We are in this process. There is news about mass arrests and so on.'
Ashutosh Ranki later noted in an X post that Nadda requested time to discuss the demands with the government leadership. He wrote: 'Nadda has asked for some time to coordinate the following demands with their leadership: immediate release of Sonam Wangchuk, resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan, compensation of 1 crore rupees to all NEET aspirants who committed suicide.'
Ranki also mentioned that the first contact from the administration came late Sunday evening when the Deputy Commissioner of Police, New Delhi, reached out to establish contact. According to him, discussions intensified around 6 am on Monday, and by 11:45 am, both sides agreed to meet with the Health Minister.
Earlier that day, thousands of protesters gathered near Parliament Street and attempted to march to Parliament, demanding accountability for alleged examination irregularities and the resignation of Pradhan. The police halted the march near Parliament Street, establishing several layers of barricades. Protesters refused to disperse despite police action, including baton charges and the use of tear gas, and continued to chant slogans demanding the resignation of the Education Minister.
