The 33rd International Exhibition of Cleaning, Hygiene, and Cellulose Industries (Beauty & Clean) has started in Tehran, taking place at the Permanent International Fair of Tehran. The event has gathered over 160 domestic and foreign companies.
Exhibition Overview and Exhibitors
According to IRNA, this exhibition will last four days and showcases the latest achievements, technologies, products, and services in the fields of detergents, cosmetics, hygiene, the cellulose industry, as well as related machinery. Participants are presenting their newest developments in detergents, cosmetics and hygiene goods, cellulose products, raw materials and intermediate materials, as well as production lines and specialized services.
Position of the Raw Materials Association
At the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Alireza Kiani, head of the Iranian Detergent, Hygiene, and Cosmetics Industries Association, commented on the measures taken to ensure raw materials for the detergent industry under current conditions. He stated that there is currently no shortage in detergent production, and the market has reached stability.
Kiani emphasized that constant access to raw materials, stability in currency distribution, and simplification of supply procedures remain critically important for the detergent industry so that manufacturers can plan their activities more accurately. He noted that thanks to efforts, the raw materials needed by production units are in an acceptable state, given the direct link of this industry to household consumer baskets.
Challenges and Priorities for the Industry
The head of the Detergent Association noted that despite problems and restrictions in various areas in recent months, especially in currency supplies and some raw material sectors, the situation has been resolved over the past three months such that producers have been able to continue operating without serious shortages. He also stressed that including raw materials for the detergent industry among the main priorities for industrial currency allocation was a necessary and effective step, as this industry is important both for public health and hygiene and for supplying high-consumption goods.
He added that producers expect that for vital and essential industries directly related to people's needs, the provision of currency funds will be carried out more continuously and quickly, considering the established priority levels for various commodity and tariff groups.
Proposals for Production Support
Welcoming new government policies in the currency supply sector, the Association head stated that easing the use of export proceeds—whether from own exports, others' exports, own deposits, or others' deposits—can solve some of the producers' problems and increase the flexibility in meeting the needs of industrial enterprises. He considers providing the ability to use export proceeds through the Integrated Trade System a positive step for supporting production and hopes for the prompt implementation of infrastructure for other methods of currency provision.
The Association head also emphasized that although the detergent industry faces difficulties, like many other production sectors in the country, these problems can be solved with proper interaction between producers, the Ministry of Industry, Mining and Trade, the Central Bank, and other relevant bodies. The main task for industry activists is to maintain continuous production, prevent market shortages, and ensure stable supplies to consumers.
