Work continues in Tashkent region aimed at creating modern and convenient public spaces for the population, revitalizing territories, and increasing tourism potential. These projects were demonstrated to journalists during a press tour in the Yukori Chirchik district.
The initial point of visit was the renovated center of the district—'Independence Square.' Thanks to construction work, modern infrastructure has been created here for mass events, recreation, and residents' leisure time. The square looks especially impressive at night due to its lighting; fountains, shimmering under colorful lights and music, give guests an unparalleled mood. The addition of lighting to the neighboring 'Abu Hanifa' mosque has also given it a more majestic and vibrant appearance.
A free Wi-Fi zone operates on the square, where young people and citizens can freely use the internet and spend time. Children's laughter, family conversations, and a calm atmosphere make the center even cozier. Overall, Independence Square has become one of the most beloved places for citizens to relax, impressing with its modern appearance and beauty.
Next, media representatives inspected the pedestrian bridge built under the 'Zarbdor Experience' program and a nearly 5-kilometer pedestrian path over the Karasuv River. This project contributes to ensuring safe movement for the population, promoting a healthy lifestyle, and improving the ecological and aesthetic appearance of the riverbank.
These activities are being carried out as part of the implementation of the President's Decree of December 20, 2024, on 'introducing a new system of high economic growth and ensuring employment for the population in the regions, as well as measures to increase the role and responsibility of local authorities in this area.' This year, a 'driver' program was developed in the district aimed at developing the service sector. Specifically, a recreational area named 'Coastal Zone' along the embankment was created on a 2.10-hectare territory in the 'Ma'rifat' quarter.
4 billion 940 million soums from the state budget have been allocated to these efforts. A resident of the district, Surayyo Hasanova, expressed joy about these changes, noting that these places were previously poorly maintained, but now mobility in the district center has improved thanks to such amenities.
The next stop on the press tour was Alisher Navoi Street, which has been reconstructed, where green areas have been expanded using modern landscape solutions, pedestrian routes, recreation zones, and other necessary infrastructure have been created. Participants also visited the 'Spirituality Street,' 'Youth Garden,' and 'Light Garden' located on the banks of the Bozsuv River. In these places, national values and modern urban planning solutions are harmoniously combined: walking and health trails, flower beds, playgrounds, an amphitheater, as well as trade and service points have been established.
Abdurashid Koraboyev, Deputy Head of Yukori Chirchik District, noted that thanks to these construction works, the number of visitors to these places has increased compared to the past. He also stated that similar projects are planned for the Jumabozor quarter, located 20 kilometers from the district center. Preliminary estimates suggest that 9 billion soums will be required for this.
At the end of the press tour, journalists were provided with information about the construction and improvement works being carried out in the district, as well as about the improvement of engineering and communication infrastructure and the new opportunities being created for the population. It was emphasized that such projects contribute to the comprehensive development of territories, improving the quality of life of the population, and forming a modern living environment.
