Samsung implemented a new feature in Samsung Wallet in Brazil this Tuesday, the 21st, allowing users to make transfers using registered Pix keys. This addition benefits owners of compatible Galaxy smartphones and expands the possibilities for digital payments available in the company's digital wallet.
How Pix Transfer Works
With this update, customers can send amounts via Pix directly through the application, eliminating the need to access the financial institution's platform after the initial account linking phase. This feature operates through institutions that are part of the Central Bank of Brazil's Open Finance.
The integration of Pix into Samsung Wallet began in April 2026, and now it also covers transfers by key, adding to existing methods such as contactless, QR Code, and copy-paste Pix.
Step-by-Step Guide to Using the Feature
To start using this function, the user must first register a compatible bank account within Samsung Wallet. The procedure begins in the app itself, in the section for adding a new service, where Pix must be selected and the process of linking with a financial institution initiated.
During configuration, the customer provides their CPF, selects the available bank, and is redirected to the bank's application to authorize the use of Pix. It is important to note that this is the only time the banking application needs to be opened. Furthermore, the user has the option to set a maximum limit for each transaction within the digital wallet.
After proper authorization, sending amounts can be done entirely through Samsung Wallet. To transfer using the Pix key, simply open the wallet, choose the linked account, select the transfer option, enter the key and the desired amount, and confirm the operation using biometrics or PIN.
Other Features and Security
In addition to key transfers, the platform offers other payment methods via Pix. Users can bring their phone close to compatible terminals, scan QR codes using the device's camera or Samsung Wallet itself, or use copy-and-paste codes.
Samsung emphasizes that its digital wallet consolidates various services in one place, including contactless payments, password management through Samsung Pass, card storage, tickets, loyalty cards, and digital keys.
The security of user information is guaranteed by features based on the Samsung Knox platform, which employs mechanisms such as encryption and biometric authentication. The company also mentions that Samsung Wallet provides access to Samsung Rewards, a benefits program that accumulates points on purchases made through the platform, which can then be exchanged for discounts and advantages at official channels and brand partners.
The usability of this feature is conditional on the compatibility of the Galaxy device and the terms defined for the use of Samsung Wallet. The company warns that specifications regarding supported models, limits, and features may vary depending on the device, region, and operating system version.
