Arrow Mobility, a gaucho manufacturer specializing in electric vehicles that has its own factory unit in Caxias do Sul (RS), launched the Arrow One Pax. This new, fully electric minibus was developed to meet passenger transport needs in the charter, tourism, and school sectors.
Market Positioning
The creation of this model aims to fill an existing gap in the Brazilian market, positioning itself between the most compact electric cabin vans and large minibuses, which are considered excessively expensive for smaller-scale operations. The vehicle's design combines the robust structure of a minibus, designed to comply with impact and rollover standards, with the agility and size of a van.
Configurations and Amenities
Internally, the Arrow One Pax offers several amenities, such as a lowered and flat floor, high headroom, reclining seats, air conditioning system, and large windows. It is available in three distinct configurations: Executive, which accommodates 16 passengers plus the driver; Urban, with a capacity for 20 passengers plus the driver; and School, which can transport up to 20 students plus the driver.
Economic Advantage and Autonomy
The main differential presented by Arrow is the financial aspect. Although the initial investment is higher than that of a similar-capacity diesel van (approximately R$ 600,000), the manufacturer states that the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of the Arrow One Pax will be 16% lower over five years of use. This saving is attributed to a reduction of up to 70% in energy expenses and a 20% reduction in maintenance costs, allowing the return on the additional investment to occur in less than four years.
The batteries used are LFP (lithium, iron, and phosphate) type, supplied by the Chinese company CATL, and have an estimated lifespan from the manufacturer exceeding 1 million kilometers.
Arrow Mobility's Trajectory
Founded in 2020, Arrow Mobility was established by professionals with prior experience at Marcopolo and began serial production in 2023. Initially, the group provided bus engineering services for clients located in the United Kingdom, Egypt, Spain, and India, before developing its own product. Its first launch was the Arrow ONE, an electric van intended for last-mile logistics, with a cargo volume of about 16.5 m³. This model debuted in Mercado Livre's delivery fleet and received the international iD Design Award in 2024.
