According to the Customs Committee data, the import of passenger cars into Uzbekistan for the period from January to June 2026 reached 778.2 million US dollars. This figure significantly exceeds the amount of 530.2 million US dollars recorded for the same period in 2025. In quantitative terms, imports increased by 66.5%, rising from 32,300 to 53,800 units.
The main driver of this growth was electric vehicles. The import of electric cars grew by 81.6% in the first half of the year, increasing from 20,900 to 37,900 units. At the same time, the cost of these shipments increased from 292.9 million to 447.7 million US dollars. Electric vehicles accounted for 57.5% of the total cost of passenger car imports.
Hybrid cars, which run on a mixture of gasoline and electricity, showed even higher growth rates. Their import increased threefold, reaching 6,531 units compared to 1,850 units. The cost of hybrid shipments rose from 38.9 million to 152.2 million US dollars.
In contrast, the import of internal combustion engine cars running on gasoline decreased: the quantity fell from 9,517 to 9,384 units, and the cost decreased from 196.4 million to 176.8 million US dollars. The import of diesel passenger cars remained insignificant, decreasing from 87 to 19 units.
As a result, vehicles with electric motors—both fully electric and hybrid—accounted for 82.5% of the total number of imported passenger cars and about 77% of the total value in the first half of 2026. This is compared to 70.3% of the combined share of such vehicles the previous year.
According to the Tashkent Customs Committee, meat product imports in Uzbekistan reached $481.7 million between January and June 2026. This figure exceeds the $420.4 million recorded for the same period in 2025, reflecting a 14.6% increase in value terms.
Beef remains the main type of imported meat. Although the physical volume of supplies decreased by 12.7%—from 82.4 million to 72.0 million kilograms—the cost of its purchase increased from $333.1 million to $359.5 million. The average price per kilogram of imported beef rose from $4.0 to $5.0. Beef accounted for 74.6% of total meat import costs.
The price of lamb showed an even sharper increase. Meanwhile, the supply volume remained almost unchanged—13.3 million kilograms compared to 13.7 million kilograms the previous year, but the cost of this product nearly doubled, increasing from $19.4 million to $38.1 million.
The volume of chicken meat imports increased from 31.9 million to 34.8 million kilograms, and its cost rose from $37.0 million to $41.6 million. Imports of other poultry increased significantly: turkey supplies grew from 408 thousand to 2.0 million kilograms, and duck meat supplies increased from 64 thousand to 3.1 million kilograms.
The import of meat by-products maintained last year's level, amounting to 17.7 million kilograms valued at $17.4 million. Canned meat imports increased from 2.3 to 2.5 million kilograms, and sausage product imports rose from 1.2 to 1.3 million kilograms. At the same time, horse meat supplies decreased from 216 thousand to 89 thousand kilograms.
