At the opening ceremony, Botirjon Nuritdinov, Deputy Head of the Namangan region, spoke, emphasizing that this year's festival has become richer, new tourist locations are being formed, and the traditional event 'Lavender Holiday' is gaining special significance.
Information on Lavender Cultivation
Participants of the press tour familiarized themselves with extensive areas where medicinal and aromatic plants are cultivated and received detailed information about lavender cultivation, its processing, and economic efficiency. Specialists noted that lavender is an export crop that yields harvests for many years after initial planting.
Investment Projects
Currently, under a project worth 40 million US dollars, implemented by the limited liability company 'MEHRIGIYO', the cultivation of medicinal plants and the production of aromatic products have begun on an area of 500 hectares.
Tourism Potential of the Region
The lavender fields located on the slopes of the Bepoyon mountains attracted great interest from festival guests. The purple fields drew attention due to their natural beauty and unique status as a photo spot. Furthermore, a concert program was presented as part of the event. Such festivals held in the lavender fields of the Popsky district contribute to demonstrating Namangan's tourism potential, developing agritourism, and increasing the region's investment attractiveness.
