According to the press service of the National Olympic Committee, Uzbekistan won first place in the overall medal count at the Asian Junior Judo Championship held in Jordan.
During the second day of the competition, Uzbek judokas managed to win five gold, two silver, and one bronze medal.
At the end of the championship, the junior national team of Uzbekistan received a total of 20 awards: 11 gold, four silver, and five bronze. This result secured the team first place in the final medal table.
The youth competitions will begin today in Amman.
The national team of Uzbekistan concluded its participation in the Asian Boxing Championship in the U19 and U23 age categories, which was held in Jakarta. On the final day of the competition, boxers from Uzbekistan won four gold and two silver medals in the U23 finals.
Ilhomjon Ergashev won the men's 65 kg weight category, securing the Asian title after defeating Vanshadja from India with a score of 4:1 in the final. Abdullokh Madaminov won gold in the 70 kg category, beating Nurbek Mursal from Kazakhstan with a score of 5:0 in the title bout.
Faziddin Erkinboev added another gold medal to Uzbekistan's tally, defeating Oner Seilkhan from Kazakhstan with a score of 5:0 by unanimous decision in the 80 kg final. In the men's category over 90 kg, the Asian champion was Ozodbek Aliyev, who overcame Mirzakir Koshariev from Kyrgyzstan in a tense final with a score of 3:2.
Silver medals were won by Norbek Abdullaev in the 85 kg category after losing 1:4 to Temrlan Mukataev from Kazakhstan in the final, as well as Samir Sobirov in the 90 kg division, who lost 2:3 to Ibragim Betaev from Kazakhstan. Farozbek Dusmatov received bronze in the 55 kg category, Abdurakmon Mahmudjonov won bronze in the 60 kg category, and Abdulaziz Abdulkhamidov finished third in the 75 kg category.
Overall, Uzbekistan won four gold, two silver, and three bronze medals across ten weight categories, allowing it to take first place in the final medal table. Kazakhstan finished in second place. The successful performance of the Uzbek team confirmed the high level of its preparation and leading position in Asia among young boxers.
The women's national team of Uzbekistan won first place in the overall team standings at the Asian Boxing U19 and U23 Championship held in Jakarta.
Uzbek athletes participated in eight out of ten weight categories and won six medals: four gold and two silver. It was thanks to these achievements that the team managed to secure the first position in the overall standings. The Kazakhstan team took second place in the tournament, and India received third place.
Sabrina Chakomanova (up to 54 kg), Sevara Mamatova (up to 60 kg), Rushanabonu Isoeva (up to 65 kg), and Samira Turgunova (up to 75 kg) brought gold medals to Uzbekistan. All four athletes won their final matches with a score of 5:0. Among the winners: Chakomanova defeated Joyshri Devi from India, Mamatova beat Chahat from India, Isoeva overcame Tong Wong from Chinese Taipei, and Turgunova defeated Anshiku from India.
Nazokat Mardonova (up to 51 kg) was awarded a silver medal after losing the final to Indian athlete Chandrike Pujari with a score of 0:5, and Maftuna Yangiyeva (up to 70 kg) suffered a defeat in the decisive match against Kamila Ospanova from Kazakhstan with a score of 2:3.
The Asian Championship in Jakarta continues. Next, representatives of the national team of Uzbekistan in the U23 age category will compete for medals.
The women's national team of Uzbekistan in sports wrestling demonstrated a successful performance at the Asian Championship for athletes under 20, which took place in Thailand. The team managed to win five different awards.
The greatest success was achieved by Mukhaiye Narzilloyeva, who took first place in the weight category up to 65 kilograms, becoming the Asian champion. Shokhista Shonazarova received the silver medal in the category up to 50 kilograms.
In addition, three other athletes were able to reach the podium, winning bronze medals. Their achievements include: Feruza Kairatdinova in the weight up to 62 kilograms, Mukhaiye Rakhimjonova in the category up to 68 kilograms, and Sevincoy Polvonova in the weight up to 76 kilograms.
It is worth noting that previously, the Uzbek team also showed good results at the Asian U15 Championship, where the team won five medals in freestyle wrestling.
