A unified digital system is planned to be introduced in Uzbekistan to accompany patients battling cancer throughout the entire process—from the moment of early detection to treatment and subsequent monitoring.
Project Implementation Stages
The creation of this digital system is part of a presidential decree. Initially, within three months, technical requirements will be defined for launching the platform, which integrates diagnostics, therapy, dispensary observation, and patient routing processes.
Modernization and Data Integration
The 'Cancer Register' information system will be modernized by the end of 2026 to bring it into compliance with international standards for accounting for oncological diseases. The use of artificial intelligence tools to support doctors in decision-making is also planned.
By 2027, a specialized module will appear within the 'E-Health' system, providing comprehensive digital support for oncology patients by unifying registration, diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring into a single ecosystem.
Financing and Personnel
An additional 1.7 trillion soms will be allocated for the implementation of this program in 2027. Starting from 2028, funding will be included annually in the state budget, taking into account indexation.
Significant attention will be paid to training medical personnel. The professional development of healthcare workers, including the involvement of foreign experts, will be covered by state budget funds and the dedicated fund for medical development.
Logistics and Prevention
By 2027, a digital system will also be implemented for forecasting and managing the inventory of medicines and consumables. This will allow for more efficient distribution of drugs between regions and the conclusion of long-term contracts for the purchase of anti-cancer agents.
In addition, Uzbekistan plans to significantly improve the indicators of early detection of oncological diseases, aiming to reach a 40% diagnosis rate in the first and second stages. Every February 4th, on World Cancer Day, major events aimed at prevention and raising awareness about early cancer detection will be held in the country.
