The Parliamentary Commission for Managing the Funds of the Public Foundation for Supporting Civil Society Institutions under the Supreme Majlis held another meeting.
Topics Discussed
At the meeting, the determination of winners of the first state grant competition for 2026 was approved, and issues regarding financial support for civil society institutions, encouragement of young specialists working in non-profit organizations (NPOs), and the implementation of social projects were discussed.
Grant Competition and Projects
It was noted that in May of this year, a state grant competition was announced to support areas such as improving mahalla infrastructure, ensuring population employment, eliminating environmental problems, creating sports grounds and libraries, as well as supporting education and healthcare.
943 projects from civil society institutions participated in the competition. The Parliamentary Commission evaluated these projects based on their relevance to mahalla needs, social significance, population coverage, and expected practical results, after which the winners were determined.
Process Transparency and Staff Support
It was emphasized that all stages of the state grant competition were conducted through the platform ngo.gov.uz, which ensured openness and transparency of the process, providing equal opportunities to participants.
Furthermore, the meeting considered the issue of supporting young and promising personnel working in NPOs. In particular, it was noted that a mechanism for an additional salary supplement for young specialists working in NPOs was introduced within the framework of the State Program 'Year of Mahalla Development and Societal Revival,' which includes completing studies at a foreign university ranked in the top 500 international rankings.
Social Initiatives
An analysis of the implementation of social projects aimed at supporting needy segments of the population was also conducted, with discussions on their feasibility and effectiveness.
Following the meeting, relevant decisions were adopted on all agenda items.
