The second International Communications Week is taking place in Lanzhou, organized by the World Media Association as part of the 'Media Tour of Lanzhou' program. As part of this event, a delegation of journalists, bloggers, and photographers from 23 countries across six continents visited the Dansi geological zone, located 13 kilometers from the city center.
Natural Landscapes of Dansi
This landscape impresses with its multicolored hills. After the rain, Dansi acquired unexpectedly soft and exquisite shades. The cloud-covered mountains merge with a light mist, and the red and dark green hues lend the scenery a special beauty.
The geological wonder, which has been forming over millions of years, is painted in bright colors reminiscent of an artist's palette under a sunny sky. However, the rain seems to soften these colors: dark tones become softer, and light ones even more transparent. It gives the impression that nature itself has applied a wet brushstroke of ink, creating a grand canvas in the style of traditional Chinese painting.
Theatrical Performance
After touring the observation deck, participants of the media tour visited the 'Dansi Horse Dance' theatrical performance center. On a vast sand stage, dozens of horses galloped rapidly before the audience under the direction of trainers. This marked the first major open stage dedicated to equestrian culture in Lanzhou.
The plot depicts the historical procession of the famous commander Huo Qubing, which occurred after a victory in the Lanjiusui mountains during the Western Han Dynasty. The combination of equestrian art, dance, and modern lighting technology revives the legends of the Great Silk Road. The sounds of hooves on sand, rising dust, and the energetic run of the horses evoke strong emotions in the spectators.
Contrast and Urban Development
Previously, Dansi appeared static, but now it seems to have come alive. Particularly impressive is how the colors of Dansi intensify after the rain, and the mountains embraced by clouds resemble scenes from a film. What was once a beautiful landscape has transformed into a true epic saga. The sounds of hooves, the rhythmic beats of drums, and the skill of the trainers leave unforgettable impressions.
Dansi maintains its appearance throughout millennia, remaining static. However, the horses transport the viewer back two thousand years to the era of the Great Silk Road in Heshi. The combination of rainy Dansi and energetically running horses is a harmony of tranquility and movement, revealing the true spirit of this land.
Lanzhou, being one of the most important hubs of the ancient Great Silk Road, continues to tell the world about its high-quality development through the unique landscapes of 'watercolor Dansi,' which change depending on the season and weather, as well as through constantly improving tourist infrastructure, as the capital of the Yellow River.
