According to the National Statistical Committee, the number of operating enterprises with foreign capital in Uzbekistan has exceeded the mark of 20,000 for the first time.
As of July 1, 2026, the country had 20,502 enterprises with foreign investments. Among them, 4,611 were joint ventures, and 15,891 belonged to fully foreign investors.
According to the statistical agency, over the past five years, the number of operating foreign enterprises has increased by 1.4 times, which indicates a steady growth in investment activity in the country. Chinese investors hold the leading positions with 6,060 companies. Russia is in second place with 3,454 enterprises, and Turkey is among the top three leaders with 2,293 companies.
The top ten countries contributing the most to the number of operating enterprises with foreign investments also include Kazakhstan with 1,307 companies, South Korea with 725 companies, Afghanistan with 685 companies, Azerbaijan with 473 companies, Tajikistan with 455 companies, the United Arab Emirates with 440 companies, and India with 426 companies.
The National Statistical Committee emphasized that enterprises with foreign capital continue to play a significant role in the economic development of Uzbekistan, contributing to attracting investments, creating jobs, and strengthening international business cooperation.
According to the National Committee on Statistics, as of June 1, 2026, there are 430,900 active commercial organizations operating in Uzbekistan.
The most common organizational and legal form in the country remains limited liability companies (LLCs). 343,584 such LLCs have been registered, accounting for 79.7 percent of the total number of commercial structures.
Private enterprises rank second in number, with 46,515 entities, or 10.8 percent of the total volume. Family businesses account for 36,697 registered subjects, which corresponds to 8.5 percent.
Additionally, 645 active joint-stock companies operate in Uzbekistan, making up 0.2 percent of the total. The remaining 3,496 commercial organizations belong to other legal forms and constitute 0.8 percent of the total number of enterprises.
