Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan discussed opportunities to deepen interaction in the fields of geology, subsoil use, and groundwater resource management.

Working Visit and Discussions

The discussions took place during the working visit of Rustam Yusupov, Deputy Minister of Mining Industry and Geology of Uzbekistan, to the Kyrgyz Republic. During the meetings, the parties reviewed issues regarding the preparation of a joint Action Plan in the mining and geological sectors, as well as potential projects for the exploration and development of mineral deposits.

Significant attention was paid to exchanging experience and implementing modern technologies in geological exploration. Participants discussed the prospects of applying advanced subsurface investigation methods for industry development. Kyrgyzstan's experience in the rational use, protection, and monitoring of groundwater reserves was also examined separately.

The parties also studied the possibility of applying digital technologies and artificial intelligence for hydrogeological modeling, data analysis, and forecasting. At the conclusion of the meetings, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan reaffirmed their mutual interest in further developing cooperation and implementing joint projects in the field of geology and rational use of natural resources.

IT Park Uzbekistan expands cooperation with Hong Kong representation

Representatives of IT Park Uzbekistan and the Economic and Trade Office of Hong Kong in Dubai held discussions on prospects for developing joint work in the fields of technology, innovation, and international business.

The main focus of the negotiations was on attracting foreign IT companies, developing investment interaction, and strengthening business ties between Uzbekistan and Hong Kong.

The negotiations took place between the IT Park Uzbekistan delegation, led by Director of Export Development Zhakhongir Kagirov, and representatives of the Economic and Trade Office of Hong Kong in Dubai, under the leadership of General Director Simon Chan.

The IT Park Uzbekistan delegation demonstrated the capabilities of the national technological ecosystem, detailing the residency program, existing state support measures, tax incentives, and services for foreign companies entering the Uzbek market. Services in recruitment, business analytics, digital solutions, and comprehensive support for companies at all stages of business localization were also presented.

Advantages of Hong Kong and Plans

For their part, representatives of the Economic and Trade Office of Hong Kong spoke about the advantages of Hong Kong as one of the world's centers for trade, finance, and logistics. They noted that the region provides favorable conditions for companies implementing strategies to enter international markets.

The parties paid special attention to opportunities for international technology firms to open development offices in Uzbekistan. The Hong Kong representatives confirmed their business interest in developing such cooperation and agreed to continue working together on new projects and initiatives.

Next Steps

At the end of the meeting, IT Park Uzbekistan invited representatives of the Economic and Trade Office of Hong Kong to participate in the ICT Week Uzbekistan 2026 forum, which will take place in September. Both sides reaffirmed their intention to maintain a dialogue aimed at attracting international technology companies, increasing the export potential of IT Park Uzbekistan residents, and strengthening the partnership between the innovative ecosystems of Uzbekistan and Hong Kong.

The Minister of Health of Uzbekistan, Eldor Adilov, met with the Iranian Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Mohammadali Iskandari, to discuss prospects for deepening bilateral interaction in the field of healthcare.

The Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratlov, held a meeting with the Ambassador of Kuwait to Uzbekistan, Turki Khalid Hamad Al-Mikrad, on July 14, 2026.

During the negotiations, both sides focused on the further development of trade, economic, and investment interaction, as well as the implementation of new joint projects.

Areas of Cooperation

Officials reviewed ways to increase bilateral trade, promote Uzbek products in the Kuwaiti market, organize business missions and exhibitions, and strengthen ties between the business communities of the two countries.

The meeting identified promising areas for cooperation, including the banking and financial sector, agriculture, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, industry, and services. Special attention was paid to interaction with the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development regarding the financing of infrastructure and logistics projects.

Future Steps

Furthermore, the parties discussed preparations for holding an Uzbek-Kuwaiti business forum and activating the work of the Intergovernmental Commission. The third meeting of this commission is scheduled to take place in Uzbekistan in the autumn of 2026.
