A delegation of 165 entrepreneurs from Iraqi Kurdistan arrived in Uzbekistan for a two-day business visit. This visit was organized at the initiative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kuwait.
Goals and Composition of the Delegation
The visit program includes holding a business forum, as well as meetings and inspections of industrial facilities. According to information from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the trip followed agreements reached during the working visit of the Chairman of the Chamber, Davron Vakhabov, to Iraq in December 2025.
The delegation included leaders of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Iraqi Kurdistan, heads of trade and industry chambers from Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, Duhok, Halabja, and Kirkuk, as well as representatives of the local business community.
Events in Tashkent
The visit, taking place on July 17–18, provides for the participation of participants in the Forum of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and Iraqi Kurdistan in Tashkent. Additionally, an inspection of industrial enterprises and viewing of exhibitions showcasing products from electrical engineering, food industry, and textile sectors are planned.
Visit to Industrial Facilities
One of the key events was the visit to the confectionery producer CRAFERS. The delegation was also presented with a food industry exhibition featuring over 25 Uzbek producers. Guests familiarized themselves with production capacities, studied manufacturing technologies and product assortments, expressing interest in supplying Uzbek goods to the Iraqi Kurdistan market and expanding trade and economic cooperation.
Entrepreneurs visited the IMZO production complex, which specializes in manufacturing aluminum and glass window systems, as well as facade structures. The delegation gained insight into the company's production capabilities, its export potential, and manufacturing technologies. The enterprise employs about 2500 people, and its production complex covers an area of 16 hectares.
IMZO also hosted an exhibition with the participation of 35 domestic companies. Representatives of the Iraqi Kurdistan business community assessed the opportunities in Uzbekistan's construction industry and discussed prospects for industrial interaction and increasing bilateral trade.
Expectations from the Visit
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry expressed hope that this trip will help establish new direct contacts between enterprises, promote joint projects, and give an additional impetus to trade and economic cooperation between the two sides.
