The Uzbekistan youth judo team performed successfully at the Asian Junior Championship held in Amman (Jordan). The team demonstrated confident play and topped the overall medal table.
Competition Results
After two days of competition, Uzbek athletes won a total of 20 awards, including 11 gold medals. A decisive moment came on the second morning of competition when the team added 5 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze medal to its count.
Champions and Medalists
Among the Asian champions were Bekhruzbek Usmonov (in the up to 73 kg category), Jurabek Eshpulatov (up to 90 kg), Alibek Durdyev (over 90 kg), Zuhra Alimova (up to 57 kg), and Parizoda Yuldosheva (up to 63 kg). Silver medals were won by Samandar Sunnatov (up to 81 kg) and Dinora Samandarova (up to 63 kg), while Posshozhon Jumaboyeva (up to 70 kg) received a bronze award.
Tournament Progress
The first day of the competition was also marked by high achievements: Uzbek judokas won 12 medals, including 6 gold. These successes allowed the team to take the leading positions and ultimately achieve victory in the tournament. It is worth noting that the Uzbekistan youth judo team had previously won 39 medals, taking first place in the overall team standings of the Asian Cup.
