A recently published study by the Pew Research Center found that China now enjoys a more favorable global perception compared to the United States across a wide range of countries.
The latest data was gathered from a survey of 42,151 adults conducted between February 8 and May 13. Among the 36 surveyed nations, the majority of the population demonstrates a more positive attitude toward China than toward the US.
This shift is observed even among long-standing allies of the US, including the UK, Canada, France, and Germany. According to The Washington Post, residents of these four countries rated the US as favorably or even more favorably than China last year.
Conversely, only six countries maintain more positive sentiments toward the US: India, Japan, the Philippines, South Korea, Israel, and Poland.
The study also highlights divergences in opinions regarding global governance and foreign policy. According to Bloomberg, respondents in 17 middle-income countries express greater concern about US foreign policy than Chinese policy. Furthermore, more people in these countries consider China a more reliable partner and believe that China contributes more to global stability and peace.
In Latin America, public opinion has shifted somewhat in favor of China, primarily due to weakening trust in the United States. Survey participants are much more likely to claim that the US interferes in the affairs of other nations than to make the same statement about China.
As the Communist Party of China celebrates its 105th anniversary, experts from Gulf countries have expressed their admiration for China's achievements.
China and the Gulf countries maintain close partnership relations.
