In Tashkent, Uzbekistan, the University of Geological Sciences held a meeting with a delegation from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) on July 14. The goal of the negotiations was to discuss opportunities for deepening scientific interaction between the parties.
The discussed issues covered geological mapping, expanding joint research work, organizing scientific seminars and classes, as well as developing the university's laboratory base and implementing potential joint projects.
At the conclusion of the meeting, representatives of both sides expressed their interest in further strengthening the partnership. They voiced readiness to support scientific research and train qualified specialists in the field of geology.
The Minister of Health of Uzbekistan, Eldor Adilov, met with the Iranian Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Mohammadali Iskandari, to discuss prospects for deepening bilateral interaction in the field of healthcare.
During the meeting, both sides noted that cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran has been steadily growing in recent years due to agreements reached by the leadership of the two countries. This progress was achieved through closer interaction between the ministries of health, specialized medical centers, and higher educational institutions.
Particular attention was paid to strengthening ties between leading medical institutions. Opportunities were discussed for launching joint programs in areas such as cardiothoracic surgery, transplantation, oncology, as well as providing high-tech medical care.
Participants also reviewed the potential for joint investment projects related to the production of pharmaceuticals and medical equipment. At the conclusion of the negotiations, both sides expressed confidence that healthcare cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran will reach a new level in the near future.
The Director of the Migration Agency of Uzbekistan, Behzod Musaev, held a meeting with the U.S. Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Jonathan Henick.
The parties discussed ways to develop interaction in the field of legal labor migration, as well as the implementation of pilot projects for the employment of Uzbek citizens.
Uzbekistan presented information on improving the labor migration system in accordance with international standards, diversifying foreign labor markets, preparing candidates for work abroad, and measures to protect the rights and legitimate interests of migrant workers.
Special attention was paid to launching pilot projects aimed at employing Uzbek citizens in the agricultural sector of the USA, including processing the necessary documentation.
The U.S. Ambassador emphasized the critical importance of high-quality training for participants in legal labor migration programs. According to Henick, candidates must receive complete information in advance about the place of work, living and working conditions, possible expenses, available support, and return conditions to Uzbekistan.
The American side also advised carefully monitoring the correct completion of documents according to established requirements and conducting preliminary checks of candidates' visa and migration history. After the meeting, the parties agreed to establish cooperation between the Migration Agency and the consular service of the U.S. Embassy. This cooperation will include information exchange and joint coordination of interviews with employers and advance document submission.
Both sides confirmed their mutual interest in the gradual development of partnership in the field of legal labor migration through these pilot initiatives.
The Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratlov, held a meeting with the Ambassador of Kuwait to Uzbekistan, Turki Khalid Hamad Al-Mikrad, on July 14, 2026.
During the negotiations, both sides focused on the further development of trade, economic, and investment interaction, as well as the implementation of new joint projects.
Officials reviewed ways to increase bilateral trade, promote Uzbek products in the Kuwaiti market, organize business missions and exhibitions, and strengthen ties between the business communities of the two countries.
The meeting identified promising areas for cooperation, including the banking and financial sector, agriculture, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, industry, and services. Special attention was paid to interaction with the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development regarding the financing of infrastructure and logistics projects.
Furthermore, the parties discussed preparations for holding an Uzbek-Kuwaiti business forum and activating the work of the Intergovernmental Commission. The third meeting of this commission is scheduled to take place in Uzbekistan in the autumn of 2026.
