Realme officially introduced the Realme 16x 5G to the Brazilian market this Thursday, July 2nd. This smartphone is positioned as an intermediate alternative from the brand, mainly highlighted by its robust 6,600 mAh battery, a value higher than usual for devices in this category.
Launch Details and Price
The device has an initial suggested price of R$ 1,599. However, through the brand's official store on Mercado Livre, it is available for pre-sale with a R$ 400 coupon valid until July 19th. With this discount, the model can be purchased for the promotional price of R$ 1,199, specifically in the 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage configuration.
This launch complements the Realme 16 family in Brazil, which already included the Realme 16 and 16 Pro Plus, launched in May. The new version was designed with a more simplified configuration to reach a more accessible price range, while maintaining important features of the line, such as the high refresh rate screen and large battery capacity.
Technical Highlights: Battery and Charging
A strong point of the Realme 16x 5G is its 6,600 mAh battery, which is slightly larger than the 6,550 mAh of the Realme 16, but smaller than the 7,000 mAh of the 16 Pro Plus. The manufacturer states that the technology used should ensure good durability for up to six years.
In terms of power, the device supports 45W fast charging and also offers 6.5W wired reverse charging, allowing the phone to serve as a power source for other compatible accessories, such as headphones.
Screen and Performance Specifications
The smartphone's screen measures 6.8 inches and uses an LCD panel with HD+ resolution (1570 x 720 pixels), which is a more basic configuration compared to the AMOLED screens of the more expensive models in the series. Despite this, the refresh rate reaches 144 Hz, providing greater fluidity in games, browsing, and animations.
The device incorporates the Rainwater Smart Touch 2.0 feature, developed to optimize touch sensitivity even when the screen or hands are wet. Furthermore, it has an IP64 certification, which protects against dust and water splashes, in addition to offering extra protection against accidental drops.
Processing is handled by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chip, an octacore processor with 5G support, ideal for the mid-range segment. Users can choose between 4 GB or 8 GB of RAM, with internal storage options of 128 GB or 256 GB, both spaces being expandable via microSD card.
The factory operating system is Android 16, running the Realme UI 7.0 interface. Realme has also integrated advanced functionalities such as Flux Engine, Google Gemini integration, Smart Loop, AI Image Cropping, and AI External Mode.
Cameras and Connectivity
The camera setup of the Realme 16x 5G presents a more modest configuration compared to other devices in the 16 series. It features a 50 MP main camera, which includes artificial intelligence features, and a 5 MP front camera.
In terms of connectivity, the phone supports 5G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC, which enables contactless payments.
Final Availability of Models
Finally, the Realme 16x 5G is available in two price configurations. The version with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage has a suggested price of R$ 1,599, while the model equipped with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB costs R$ 1,899. With the application of the R$ 400 coupon provided by the manufacturer, the final prices are reduced to R$ 1,199 and R$ 1,499, respectively.
