The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan, Alisher Tukhtayev, met with Haroon Akhtar Khan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan and Federal Minister of Industry and Production, to discuss the development of trade, economic cooperation, and investments between the two countries.
Planning a Business Visit
One of the central topics of the negotiations was the preparation for a visit by a delegation of Uzbek businessmen to Pakistan, as well as the organization of an Uzbekistan-Pakistan business forum during this visit. Participants emphasized that this event would help establish direct contacts between the business communities of both countries, strengthen trade ties, and create a foundation for new investment projects.
Discussion of Joint Projects
The parties also reviewed issues related to preparing bilateral documents, implementing potential joint ventures, and removing existing barriers to economic interaction. Haroon Akhtar Khan welcomed the proposals from Uzbekistan and assured that Pakistan was ready to provide the necessary support in preparing for the upcoming business delegation's visit.
Cooperation Strategy until 2030
Discussions focused on finalizing an action plan for developing trade, economy, and investment between Uzbekistan and Pakistan for the period from 2026 to 2030. This document is expected to define priority areas of cooperation and contribute to increasing bilateral trade. The meeting concluded with an agreement to strengthen economic diplomacy, expand business delegations exchanges, and enhance strategic partnership between the two countries.
