New initiatives have been introduced aimed at strengthening the budgets of the mahallas. Initially, it was planned that the mahalla budgets for this year would amount to 600 billion sums.
By a Presidential decree adopted in June, the share of land and property tax paid into the mahalla was increased from 10% to 15%. Additionally, 10% of fines for violating sanitary norms and illegal construction will now go to the mahalla.
It has also been permitted for the mahallas themselves to sell buildings up to 5 thousand square meters. This will allow an increase in revenue to the mahalla budgets by another 405 billion sums.
Now, 5% of the land and property tax collected from real estate objects in the mahalla will also go directly to the mahalla itself. Thanks to this, the mahallas will receive an additional 400 billion sums annually.
During the year, 200 mahallas that demonstrate the highest number of registered entrepreneurs, create the most new jobs, have the highest level of understanding, and have found the largest tax base will be awarded 2 billion sums.
Overall, according to the new initiatives, revenues to the mahalla budgets this year will reach 1 trillion 600 billion sums, and from next year—2 trillion sums.
Under the chairmanship of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, video selection meetings continue regarding the implementation of a new environment in the mahallas and the updating of 'mahalla yettiligi' activities.
Sequential work is underway in the Muborak district of Karashar district to launch new industrial capacities with the participation of foreign investments and the production of export-oriented products. This contributes to increasing the region's industrial potential, creating new jobs, and expanding export geography.
Currently, several production enterprises are operating in the district with the participation of investors from China, Russia, Turkey, South Korea, Afghanistan, and Iran. At these enterprises, competitive goods based on local raw materials and modern technologies are prepared and subsequently supplied to external markets.
One such enterprise is the company 'Mu Yuan', established with the participation of Chinese capital. Two million US dollars were invested in this project, after which a modern production process was launched. Aluminum products are manufactured at this enterprise, and the finished goods are exported to the Chinese market.
This not only increases export volume but also strengthens the competitiveness of domestic products in the international market. Currently, about 30 local residents are continuously employed at this enterprise. The investment projects being implemented in the Muborak district are of great importance as a practical result of reforms aimed at diversifying the region's industry, ensuring employment, and expanding the production of export goods.
In recent years, a number of positive measures have been implemented to guarantee the property rights of business entities and prevent undue interference. In this regard, the Business Ombudsman is taking appropriate measures to protect the legitimate interests of entrepreneurs. Every appeal from an entrepreneur serves as an important basis for deeply analyzing the real situation, identifying systemic issues in the field in advance, and developing the most appropriate solutions for them.
Specifically, the Business Ombudsman received an appeal from an entrepreneur who carried out construction and repair works at educational institution facilities located in Balingchi district and Andijan city. The entrepreneur was dissatisfied because the payment for the completed work had not been fully made.
It was determined that contracts worth a total of 7.8 billion soums were concluded between the company 'Single Customer Service' under the Andijan regional government and the community. However, the debt amounting to 323 million soums for the completed construction and repair works was not fulfilled despite several appeals and demands from the entrepreneur.
As a result of the investigation by the Business Ombudsman, a lawsuit was filed with the Andijan District Economic Court to recover this debt in order to protect the interests of the entrepreneur. Ultimately, the court decision stipulated the recovery of 323 million soums in debt for the benefit of the entrepreneur.
The entrance exams were conducted to select talented youth, objectively assess their intellectual potential, and open up broad avenues in modern education. This task is one of the priorities in the country's educational policy.
Test assessments were organized at the branch of the Muhammad al-Khwarizmi Specialized School in the Syrdarya region in accordance with these principles for admitting students for the 2026–2027 academic year. According to specialists, in addition to subject knowledge, candidates are assessed on their ability for logical thinking and intellectual potential. Therefore, the admission process to specialized schools plays a key role in identifying young people who will become highly qualified specialists in science and digital technologies in the future.
According to available information, three classes were created for the 5th grade at the Guliston branch, with 24 students admitted to each, totaling only 72 people. This means that about 51 candidates competed for one spot. The high competition clearly demonstrates the growing authority of this educational institution, the quality of education, and the interest in the opportunities it provides.
Following the tests, the most suitable, knowledgeable, and talented candidates will be accepted into the Muhammad al-Khwarizmi Specialized School branch.
