The renovation and expansion project for the summer house by architect Oton Yugovets in Zasip is based on a respectful approach to the original architecture and its exceptional location on the edge of a natural terrace overlooking Lake Bled.
This house is conceived as an intimate sanctuary for observing and experiencing the surrounding landscape. The existing building retains its unique spatial identity, while new intervention elements allow for a modern lifestyle without disrupting the original architectural composition.
The design team described the Lake House as a contemporary residence situated on the shores of a lake, located in the western region of Poland.
The project was conceived as a refuge that deeply integrates with the natural environment, investigating the existing connection between architecture, the surrounding landscape, and the cultural customs of the local area.
The inspiration for this design came from simple functional buildings often seen near lakes, such as hangars for water sports equipment, storage sheds, and boat garages. The sincere forms and the use of resistant materials served as the basis for developing a modern version of a lakeside dwelling.
