Customs monitoring in the Bukhara province continues with the aim of ensuring the legal movement of goods and currency across the state border, strengthening economic security, and preventing legislative violations. Thanks to modern inspection methods, risk analysis systems, and the vigilance of customs officers, any attempt to bypass legal requirements is detected in a timely manner.
One practical example was an incident registered at the Olot customs post, located in the Bukhara province. During the inspection of a citizen traveling on foot towards Uzbekistan–Turkmenistan, the presence of foreign currency in an amount exceeding the established norm—$6,500 USD—was discovered.
In connection with this situation, the currency funds were processed in accordance with current legislative requirements. It should be noted that according to current legislation, individuals have the right to export foreign currency up to the equivalent of 100 million Uzbekistani sums, provided they voluntarily declare this fact in the customs declaration. Exporting an amount exceeding this limit is possible only based on a corresponding permit document issued in the established manner.
Customs authorities urge citizens to familiarize themselves in advance with the currency export procedure and strictly adhere to legislative requirements. Compliance with the rules helps avoid unnecessary problems and legal consequences.
At a joint meeting of the Senate Committee on Defense and Security, as well as the council of people's deputies of the Yangikhayot district, results of work on preventing offenses, combating crime and corruption were discussed.
The meeting was attended by the chairman of the Senate Committee on Defense and Security, Q. Burkhonov, a member of the Senate Committee on Science, Education and Health, G. Marufova, the management of the Tax Committee, deputies of the council of people's deputies of the Yangikhayot district, local executive authorities, representatives of law enforcement agencies and relevant institutions.
Reports from the head of the district, the prosecutor, and the heads of internal affairs bodies were heard, after which deputies raised a number of questions regarding the current situation.
According to the measures conducted in the district, in the first half of 2026, there was a 50% decrease in crimes committed by previously convicted persons, a 38% decrease in crimes among youth, a 25% decrease in crimes among women, and a 14.2% decrease in crimes committed under the influence of alcohol.
At the same time, an increase of 19% in the number of crimes identified at the initiative of internal affairs bodies indicates the activation of preventive activities.
During the discussion, it was noted that work needs to be strengthened in several areas. Specific tasks were defined, including ensuring effective control over the implementation of preventive measures, targeted work with the population in need of social protection, guaranteeing the full reflection of the set tasks in information platforms, and strengthening cooperation between responsible organizations.
Based on the submitted proposals and comments, a joint act was adopted, and a plan of measures for fulfilling the established tasks was approved.

The entrance exams were conducted to select talented youth, objectively assess their intellectual potential, and open up broad avenues in modern education. This task is one of the priorities in the country's educational policy.
Test assessments were organized at the branch of the Muhammad al-Khwarizmi Specialized School in the Syrdarya region in accordance with these principles for admitting students for the 2026–2027 academic year. The admission processes, which took place simultaneously across the republic, were also carried out at a high level in the Syrdarya region.
Candidates took tests in mathematics and English. The exams were organized in several locations: at the district unit of the Agency for Knowledge and Ability Assessment, in the hall of individual competitions of the Guliston Center for Training for Olympic and Paralympic Sports, at the specialized gymnastics school, and in the buildings of the Muhammad al-Khwarizmi Specialized School branch in Guliston.
This year, 3633 students participated in the admissions campaign. Safety, order, and objective assessment requirements were fully provided for them. All classrooms were equipped with the necessary technical means, ensuring equal opportunities for every candidate. This has become an important aspect of the admission system aimed at prioritizing knowledge and abilities over any other factors.
To ensure the openness of the examination process, parents were given the opportunity to monitor their children's participation in the testing online. This not only guaranteed transparency but also strengthened confidence in the admissions campaign.
According to specialists, in addition to subject knowledge, candidates are assessed on their ability for logical thinking and intellectual potential. Therefore, the admission process to specialized schools plays a key role in identifying young people who will become highly qualified specialists in science and digital technologies in the future.
According to available information, three classes were created for the 5th grade at the Guliston branch, with 24 students admitted to each, totaling only 72 people. This means that about 51 candidates competed for one spot. The high competition clearly demonstrates the growing authority of this educational institution, the quality of education, and the interest in the opportunities it provides.
Following the tests, the most suitable, knowledgeable, and talented candidates will be accepted into the Muhammad al-Khwarizmi Specialized School branch.
