As part of a high-level political forum on sustainable development held in New York, the Minister of Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Hamroev, is holding meetings with leaders of several foreign companies.
Negotiations with American Partners
One such meeting was negotiations with the management of the American company 'RS Capital Engineering'. During this discussion, issues of modernizing the water resources sector, developing high-tech production, and expanding investment cooperation were discussed in detail.
Opinions were exchanged regarding the launch of modern electrical equipment production in Uzbekistan, such as pumping stations, pumps, turbines, generators, and high-power electric motors, as well as the implementation of advanced technologies and technology transfer expansion.
Report on Uzbekistan's Achievements
During the meeting, the minister presented detailed information about the large-scale reforms being carried out in the water resources sector at the initiative of the President, as well as work on modernizing network infrastructure and attracting investments in this industry. It was emphasized that Uzbekistan's achievements in achieving Sustainable Development Goal No. 6 — 'Clean Water and Sanitation' — are highly valued by the international community.
It was noted that the country's best practices in this area attract the attention of the international community within the framework of the high-level political forum on sustainable development in New York.
Details of the 'Piskent Technopark' Project
According to Temur Bahranov, a leading specialist from the Department of International Relations and Issues of the Ministry of Water Resources, during the negotiations, the prospects for implementing the investment project 'Piskent Technopark', with a total volume of 267 million US dollars, were also reviewed.
T. Bahranov noted that all aspects of this project were carefully studied during the negotiations. The project plans for the localization of modern electrical equipment production, the creation of high-tech industry capacities, the development of service services, the training of engineering personnel, and the professional development of local specialists.
Representatives of 'RS Capital Engineering' presented their experience in implementing large industrial projects in the USA and other countries, and also put forward proposals for introducing innovative technologies and modern engineering solutions. Furthermore, the favorable environment for foreign investors in Uzbekistan, mechanisms for supporting investment projects, and new areas of cooperation were discussed. Bahranov stated that the ministry is ready for close partnership with the company in implementing promising projects in the country.
Future Steps in Cooperation
Following the meeting, the management of 'RS Capital Engineering' was invited to participate in the Global Water Conservation Forum, which will take place in Samarkand in the autumn of this year, as well as the 'Water Tech Expo 2026' international exhibition.
