The Tashkent City Mayor's Office and the Urban Improvement Department are actively carrying out urbanization, cleaning, and construction and repair works in the capital. Within this process, streets and canals are being cleaned, and measures to preserve green areas are being intensified.
Condition of Villages and Streets
Due to rising air temperatures, watering trees and flower beds, as well as sprinkling water on the streets, is ongoing. Large-scale construction and repair works are being carried out in the central areas of the capital, including Mustaqillik Shah Street in Mirzo Ulugbek district.
Complex Renovation on Mustaqillik Shah Street
Comprehensive renovation works are underway on Mustaqillik Shah Street, including renewing the road surface, lighting, drainage system, and bus station infrastructure. According to data from the Tashkent City Mayor's Office, the main tasks of the first stage are being completed. Asphalt paving work has finished in some parts of the street, and this section is being prepared for opening to traffic in a short time.
Road Surface and Water System
In the first stage, the old asphalt pavement was milled, and subsequently, coarse asphalt-concrete was laid, basalt geotextile was installed, and PSMA-20 pavement is being laid over an area of 23,039 m². The PSMA-20 pavement stands out due to its resistance to high traffic loads, deformation and potholes in hot weather conditions, and its long service life.
In the drainage system, 1,143 meters of drainage ditches were renewed, metal pipes were replaced, new curbs were installed, and old ones were renovated. Such measures help prevent water accumulation on the road surface during rainfall, extend the service life of the asphalt pavement, and increase traffic safety.
Lighting and Bus Station Infrastructure
Changes have also been made to the lighting system: old light poles are being dismantled and 67 new light poles are being installed in their place. Regarding bus station infrastructure, 3 new bus stops are being established, and 3 modern bus station pavilions are being installed. Waiting areas for passengers are being expanded, and tactical guiding slabs are being laid. These measures ensure that buses can approach the stops easily, passengers can get on and off safely, and they can wait in comfortable conditions.
Organizational Aspects of the Works
More than 30 specialized vehicles, as well as over 250 workers and skilled specialists, have been involved in these works. All processes are being carried out based on established engineering solutions and technological requirements.
