The highest temperature recorded in the country on Saturday was 48.1°C in Musayrah (Ad-Dhafra region) at 15:15 UAE local time. According to the Emirates Astronomical Society, the hottest and driest period of the year in the UAE, known as 'Jamrat Al Qayth' (peak summer heat), began on July 3 and will last until August 10, marking the most intense phase of summer on the Arabian Peninsula and in the UAE.
Recent Rainfall
Some areas of the UAE experienced rainfall on Friday, July 3, bringing residents a refreshing break from the intense summer heat. Video footage published by the Storm Center showed rain pouring down on the eastern coast towards the Fujairah and Khor Fakkan mountains, where the sky was covered with dark, overcast clouds, indicating the possibility of further showers in that area.
