EAEU is developing a program to equip industrial enterprises with 12 thousand robots

Goals and Potential of the Project

As a result of the program's implementation, EEC enterprises will gain access to 12 thousand industrial robots and robotics systems. This coverage will account for about 10 percent of the current demand for robots in the Union market. The program covers three key areas: creating centers for the development of industrial robotics; serial production of robots and their components; and implementing robotics systems in industrial enterprises.

Economic Effect and Challenges

It is emphasized that this initiative will allow meeting 10 percent of the need for industrial robots in the EAEU market during 2028–2032. Project financing is proposed to be carried out through the budgets of the participating countries, development institutions, loans, and other extra-budgetary sources. It is noted that one industrial robot can perform the tasks of 3–4 workers. By increasing the number of robots to 10 per every 10 thousand workers, it is possible to increase labor productivity in industry by 0.5–1.6 percent.

However, there is a main problem: in EAEU countries, apart from Russia and Belarus, there are no approved national programs in the field of robotics. This complicates the determination of the necessary funds for this interstate program.
