As of June 1, 2026, the total loan portfolio of the banking system of Uzbekistan reached 636 trillion sums, demonstrating a 12% growth compared to the same period last year.
Dynamics of lending to the population
Simultaneously, the share of loans allocated to individuals increased from 34% to 37%, indicating a strengthening role of retail lending in the country. The total volume of loans provided to the population amounted to 232.9 trillion sums.
Structure of the credit portfolio
Despite the growth of the retail sector, industry remains the largest lending sector, providing 139.5 trillion sums. However, the share of this sector in the total credit portfolio decreased over the year—from 28% to 22%.
Other economic sectors
The agricultural credit portfolio reached 67.2 trillion sums, accounting for 11% of the total volume. The trade and services sector provided 53.2 trillion sums, or 8% of the portfolio, while transport and communications attracted 34.4 trillion sums, or 5%.
Growth in construction
The construction sector demonstrated the fastest growth rate among all economic activities. The lending volume in this industry increased by 48% compared to last year, reaching 21.6 trillion sums.
