Rockstar Games announced a major update for GTA Online, set to launch on July 14th. This new content introduces the The Kortz Center Heist, an unprecedented robbery targeting the Los Santos art museum.
Strategy in the New Heist
The new heist demands a more tactical approach, requiring players to conduct prior planning and site reconnaissance before executing the mission. The content can be played individually or in groups of up to four participants.
The heist takes place at the Kortz Center, a cultural center located in Pacific Bluffs. The players' objective is to steal high-value artworks. Before the actual invasion, it is necessary to visit the museum to document the displayed pieces, analyze the security systems, map escape routes, and identify potential secondary targets, which can significantly increase the final reward.
Rockstar stated that the heist will feature multiple ways to be executed, encouraging the adoption of new tactics with each attempt.
Mansion Expansion
The update also brings improvements to the functionalities of the mansions recently added to the game. Owners have the option to acquire an expansion called Art Studio, which will serve as the operational base for this new heist.
In this studio, a forger will create replicas of the artworks that will be used during the mission to replace the originals, thus complicating the detection of the theft. Additionally, equipment and technology can be stored in the studio and used to assemble custom tools before the final phase of the mission. Mansion owners can also invite friends to visit this space.
Focus on Discretion and Rewards
As detailed by Rockstar, maintaining discretion is crucial to maximizing financial gains. If the theft is discovered quickly or if there are witnesses, the value of the stolen works on the black market will decrease. To minimize suspicion, players must erase security camera footage and avoid leaving any trace during the operation.
In addition to the central items, the museum houses several secondary works that can also be taken, contributing to the overall increased value of the heist.
Characters and AI in the Heist
Throughout the entire mission, players will receive support from Mr. Faber, an enigmatic figure in charge of the operation, and Raf De Angelis, an expert who will provide reconnaissance data and coordinate part of the planning. The mansion's own artificial intelligence also assists in organizing the heist.
