With this adjustment, the operator enters direct competition with Claro, which was already offering a similar service for R$ 199.90 monthly. Although Vivo was contacted to justify the reduction, the company did not provide a response by the end of the publication.
For customers, it is worth noting that other Vivo Fiber plans maintained their original prices. The updated portfolio, verified on the provider's website, includes the 600 Mb/s option for R$ 100 monthly, 700 Mb/s for R$ 150 monthly, and now, 1 Gb/s for R$ 200 monthly. Additionally, there are combined offers, such as Vivo Total Essencial, which offers 500 Mb/s for R$ 130 monthly when associated with postpaid telephony.
The change in the 1 Gb/s offer positions Vivo in direct confrontation with Claro Fibra 1 Giga, which costs R$ 199.90 monthly. The companies' proposals differ in additional benefits: Vivo offers free access to premium Gemini for up to 12 months and Amazon Prime. Claro, on the other hand, includes Globoplay at no extra cost.
Other competitors also participate in the market. Nio, which took over the Oi Fibra service, sells an equivalent connection for R$ 145 monthly (with card payment) and grants Globoplay for 12 months. However, TIM maintains the position of offering the most affordable fiber in the country, with TIM Ultra Fibra 1 Gb/s available for only R$ 99 monthly.
