Olhar Digital News presented its main events for Tuesday, including forecasts on climate change in Brazil, the development of robotics technology, and astronomical discoveries.
El Niño's Impact on Brazilian Climate
According to a new bulletin published by federal authorities, typical El Niño conditions were identified in the equatorial Pacific Ocean in June. Areas of warmer water are spreading across the region, showing anomalies exceeding 2°C near the South American coast. Authorities warn that this climatic phenomenon may continue to affect the country's weather for at least until 2027.
Robotics and AI Development
Apptronik, which receives support from Google, opened a new center for training humanoid robots on Tuesday. This Robot Park, located in Austin, USA, covers about 8,300 square meters and was created to accelerate the application of these machines in daily tasks. Furthermore, the artificial intelligence agent OpenClaw, capable of independently performing tasks and making decisions, is now available for mobile devices on iOS and Android platforms, despite previous security concerns.
Astronomical Research and the Moon
The Vera Rubin Observatory began the largest observation of the Universe in history after several months of preparation. The project will use the largest digital camera in astronomy to generate billions of data points that will serve as the basis for research into the evolution of space, the solar system, and little-studied structures. Meanwhile, NASA announced the selection of three private companies—Astrobotic, Firefly Aerospace, and Intuitive Machines—to carry out four new missions to land on the lunar surface before the end of 2028. These companies will deliver scientific equipment, contributing to the expansion of knowledge about the lunar environment and preparation for establishing a permanent base on the Moon.
