Zontes recently introduced the 368G Adventure scooter to the Brazilian market, a model that presents a robust and comprehensive proposal. As the name suggests, this motorcycle is positioned as an adventure vehicle, aiming to cater to both urban users and those interested in travel or off-road trails.
This model is notably equipped with various technologies; however, this sophistication comes with a high price tag. The suggested retail price for the new Zontes 368G Adventure was set at R$ 45,800.
Among the standard equipment, the Zontes 368G Adventure includes a windshield, fairing protector, radiator protector, dual high beams, four USB ports (two on the dashboard and two under the seat, with potential for two more in the glove box), handguards, and footrests for both the rider and the passenger.
In terms of technology, the list of features is extensive. The vehicle is equipped with full LED and DRL lighting, a tire pressure monitoring system, an 8-inch TFT digital display capable of smartphone connectivity, traction control (optionally deactivatable), ABS (with rear deactivation possibility), specific riding modes for asphalt (Sport) and off-road (Travel), in addition to cruise control.
The mechanics of the Zontes 368G Adventure are based on a 367.6 cc engine, generating significant power and torque, totaling 36 hp and 4 kgfm of torque. The transmission system is automatic, using a CVT gearbox with a drive belt, and features liquid cooling via a radiator.
The suspension and braking systems also deserve mention. Up front, there is a 154 mm helical suspension unit that allows compression and rebound adjustment, complemented by a 300 mm disc with a four-piston caliper. In the rear, the model has two shock absorbers with preload adjustment and a 114 mm travel, in addition to a 240 mm brake disc. The wheels are spoked, with the front being 17 inches and the rear being 14 inches, and the tires are tubeless.
The model's dimensions are: height of 1,470 mm, length of 2,230 mm, width of 925 mm, seat height of 795 mm, wheelbase of 1,560 mm, and ground clearance of 180 mm. In terms of capacity, the Zontes 368G Adventure supports up to 191 kg and has a tank that holds 17.5 liters of gasoline. There is enough space under the seat to accommodate up to two helmets.
In initial reviews, the Zontes 368G Adventure proved to be a model that meets and even exceeds expectations. Its performance in urban driving was considered very efficient, and its behavior on highways and off-road terrain was also satisfactory.
Although at low speeds and in city traffic it might seem like a large and complex bike to handle, the 368G proved to be light, agile, and easy to ride. Users unaccustomed to slightly larger automatic motorcycles may face initial challenges with the throttle, but this resolves quickly after a few rides.
The comfort offered by the seat is a positive point, allowing for long distances to be traveled without discomfort. However, the width and height of the bike might be a limiting factor for an average-height Brazilian (1.80 m), requiring him to stand on his toes.
The Zontes 368G Adventure has strong acceleration and can reach up to 135 km/h, but its performance tends to decrease considerably from 110 km/h. Despite this, accessing fast roads is simple. On smoother off-road trails, the performance is very good, especially with the option to deactivate electronic controls. The auxiliary footrests for off-road use are useful, although the fairing might cause discomfort on the calves in that position.
It is concluded that, despite not being ideal for very long trips or extremely rough routes, the scooter performs well on both paved roads and lighter dirt terrain, making it a great alternative for city use.
