A clinical study conducted by Italian specialists demonstrated that the drug mesoglycan does not have a significant effect on reducing the probability of recurrent superficial thrombosis or the occurrence of new deep vein thrombosis in the lower limbs. Nevertheless, a small cumulative protective effect was noted after two years of using this medication. It is worth noting that previous scientific works had reported a significant antithrombotic potential for this agent. The results of this work were published in the journal eClinicalMedicine.
