Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has been awarded the mandate to develop technologies and innovations for New Terminal One at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York, as reported in exchange documentation.
Under the terms of the agreement, TCS will be responsible for creating and managing the entire digital infrastructure of the terminal. This infrastructure includes passenger processing systems, cybersecurity, enterprise applications, artificial intelligence-based operations, and IT infrastructure management.
New Terminal One is part of a larger JFK airport redevelopment program being implemented by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, valued at $19 billion. This project encompasses the construction of two new terminals, the modernization of two existing ones, the creation of a new ground transportation hub, and the redesign of the road network.
The technological system, developed on TCS Cognix and ignio platforms, will provide real-time information regarding passenger processing, baggage system operations, and security measures within the terminal. According to TCS representatives, this will allow airlines to manage costs and operations more efficiently.
Jennifer Augment, CEO of New Terminal One, expressed hope that through the partnership with TCS, New Terminal One will rank among the world's best, offering a transformed guest experience for airline partners and their customers, while setting new standards in airport operations and innovation.
This contract expands TCS's portfolio in airport technologies amid the growing adoption of artificial intelligence and automation in terminal and passenger operations. Amit Bajaj, TCS President for North America, noted that airports are transforming into dynamic consumer ecosystems where hospitality, retail, and personalization services interact in real time. He emphasized that the collaboration with New Terminal One aims to build such a future.
Bajaj also specified that artificial intelligence will be used to improve passenger movement and support the terminal's digital systems. TCS's business unit responsible for travel, transport, and hospitality will oversee this contract, providing technological services to airlines, airports, hotels, and logistics companies. TCS reported that its consolidated revenue in fiscal year 26 exceeded $30 billion.
