The Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawy, inspected a strategic gas infrastructure project in Jordan. This project is being implemented by companies from the Egyptian oil and gas sector as part of strengthening energy cooperation between the two countries.
The project involves the construction of a gas compressor station in the Al-Khanasri area in northern Jordan. The work is being carried out for FADHR to transmit and supply natural gas to Egypt and Jordan. The consortium, consisting of Petrojet and Enppi companies, is responsible for the implementation, which aims to strengthen Jordan's gas transmission network and increase its operational capacity.
According to project representatives, the construction has reached over 96 percent completion, and the facility is nearing operational readiness. Badawy noted that this project will enhance the significance of the Arab Gas Pipeline in ensuring the energy security of both Egypt and Jordan, as well as increasing gas supply flexibility.
Furthermore, he highly praised the work of teams from FADHR, Petrojet, and Enppi for maintaining high standards of quality, implementation, and safety, while the project adheres to the established deadlines.
The Egyptian Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawy, will make a one-day trip to Amman, Jordan, on Sunday. During the visit, he will meet with the Jordanian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Saleh Al-Harbashah.
The main goal of the meeting will be to discuss methods for improving interaction in the gas sector. The parties intend to consider joint efforts by Egypt and Jordan, as well as ways to facilitate integration into the gas industry.
Furthermore, the negotiations will cover strengthening the exchange of experience between the two states. This visit underscores the friendly ties and current coordination between Cairo and Amman, especially in the gas sector, which is a vital area of cooperation for both countries.
