State and private kindergartens in several cities and districts of Karakalpakstan will temporarily cease operations due to the predicted sharp rise in air temperature. This decision was announced by the Ministry of Preschool and School Education of Karakalpakstan.
The Ministry explained that this decision was made to protect children's health from the effects of abnormal heat and ensure their safety. The suspension of preschool institutions is based on the findings and recommendations of regional divisions of the Committee for Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health.
According to local governors' orders, kindergartens in Nukus and Khodjieli district will not operate from July 13 to July 18. In Amudaryo district, activities will be suspended from July 13 to July 15. In the districts of Beruniy, Takhyatash, Shumana, Muynak, Kanlykul, and Turtkul, preschool institutions will close from July 13 to July 17.
The Ministry strongly urged parents to closely monitor their children's health, prevent them from spending long periods outdoors during the hottest hours, and observe necessary precautions. Earlier, Uzgidromet warned that very hot air masses would enter the territory of Uzbekistan from July 13 to July 17. It is predicted that in some places the air temperature may reach 44–46 degrees Celsius, and dust storms are possible in certain areas.
