UAE Infrastructure Investments
The United Arab Emirates invests billions of dirhams annually in the development and renewal of infrastructure across the country, with a particular focus on bridges, dams, and roads.
Sharjah Road Network Modernization
Recently, the government of Sharjah announced significant changes to infrastructure concerning roads connecting the emirate with Dubai. The 750 million dirham project involves the construction and development of internal and main roads linking the two cities, including the Al Taawun Tunnel and Noor Road.
This section is one of the busiest areas in the country, as are most corridors between Sharjah and Dubai. The project aims to increase mobility and traffic flow, enhance intersection efficiency, and support the federal road network. The ministry also noted that this will contribute to sustainable development.
Project Timelines and Executors
According to the Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, the completion of this project is expected by the end of the current year. Mubadara (Initiatives Implementation Authority) is carrying out the implementation together with the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA), as well as other government entities, including Sharjah Police, Sharjah Municipality, and SEWA.
